Senior Software Engineer - Security ComplianceLocation Remote SpainPosting date 10 hours ago(1/25/2021 10:56 AM)Job ID 83950 Job summary The Platform Security team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in Spain. In this role, you will develop a security compliance solution based on open standards and leading industry technologies. This is an ideal position for an engineer with a passion for open source who is interested in security and infrastructure monitoring. You will be a key member of the Security Compliance team and your contributions will have high visibility within the company and externally within the security automation community. Primary job responsibilities

  • Define product configuration policies for security industry regulations, e.g., NIAP OSPP and Australian Essential 8
  • Implement the full automated security policies for system scanning ( sample report ) and remediation purposes
  • Lead Compliance as Code testing and development efforts
  • Support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) product certifications, e.g., SCAP-1.3
  • Productize our security compliance solutions in Red Hat s offerings
  • Challenge architecture and technical proposals and help shape decisions
  • Guide and coordinate cross-team activities
  • Promote the technologies inside and outside the company
Required skills
  • Solid scripting language experience with Python or Bash
  • Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) systems and source code control tools (Git and GitHub)
  • Direct experience working as a Linux or Unix administrator or power user; solid understanding of Linux ecosystem security
  • Experience with structured realization of projects
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies
The following are considered a plus:
  • Cyber security engineering work experience
  • Experience giving talks at conferences, presentation skills, and regular technically-based online presence
  • C or C++ development experience
  • Contribution to open source projects
