The individual must have strong experience in Design, Development, Customization and Production Support of Cognos Report Studio, Cognos Framework manager, Oracle - SQL - PL/SQL and Unix.
Excellent communication skills are a must for this position.
Technical skills should complement the problem solving and communication skills to deliver
Job Responsibilities
Complete understanding of the business requirements and BRD as per the specification. Participate in business analysis activities to gather required reporting and dashboard requirements Need to participate in all phases like Analysis, requirement gathering, Design, Development of code and production support. Create Framework manger model as per the requirement. Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards. Create Report Pages, prompt pages, different types of filters and calculative fields. Executing unit tests and validating expected results; iterating until test conditions have passed Providing end to end support for the projects such as Development, environment migration/testing support and production support. After each post migration, analysing and fixing the defects raised by SIT/UAT team. Transition developed reports and dashboards to the Operations Support team.
Key Skills
Experience of SQL and Oracle. Should have fundamentally strong and methodological problem solving skills Should demonstrate an ability to quickly learn new technology and apply their learning into practical use. Experience of formal development methodologies Knowledge of project lifecycle, particularly technical specification, development and test phases Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Proactive approach to implementation and problem resolution Strong written and verbal communication skills Conscientious approach and good attention to detail; completer / finisher High level of drive to meet aggressive deadlines and targets Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines and repeatable processes Must be able to perform duties with moderate to low supervision
Desirable Skills
Any reporting tool like Cognos(preferably) or BO.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree or above from an accredited college or university (or equivalent)
Experience 5 to 8 years
