Software architect is responsible for the technical direction of a project. Makes high level design choices for the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms. Determines coding practices, development tools, and validation requirements. Has an in depth understanding of networking domain and related use cases. Performs pathfinding and surveys technologies. Interacts with multiple technologists in the company and within the industry as well as between developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.Responsibilities Include: One Point contact for internal and external customers on all system level SW requirements for the assigned HW platform with the authority to pull together domain experts and drive to an implementation level conclusion. This includes initial platform requirements, early HW issue work-arounds and change requests during the development. As part of these deliverables, the architect will be required to establish relationships throughout the HW, SW and market sector organizations. They will be required to work closely with internal and external product development teams, program managers and customers to define and prioritize technology features and influence the development as it progresses. They will provide consulting for customer applications and issue resolution along with research and identifying current and future technical trends. Participate on the projects from early planning through Product PRQ.Deliverables include: Working together with Platform architects to decompose the platform definition into software requirements and add those requirements into the project database Working together with Platform architects to develop the software section of the Platform Architecture Specification in preparation for the POP milestones Working together with program office to develop the entire Software Architecture Specification in preparation for the POP milestones.QualificationsNecessary Skills (must have): MSEE/MSCSE plus 12+ years of related experience C, C++ development, configuration management and debug experience Experience in Network, Virtualization, Security, cloud storage domains. Breadth of knowledge that spans BIOS and bootloaders, drivers and middleware Excellent written and verbal communication skills Technical leadership skills The candidate must demonstrate the experience to prioritize, work cross-organizationally as part of a multi-site team, and provide concise lateral and upward status and communications to coordinate, influence, or raise issues to management and other architecture groups The candidate must have proven experience to work independently & cross-organizationally to translate use cases into solutions incorporating both hardware and software,
