For example, one such store is the Amazon Fresh store, which offers a curated selection of grocery items and an array of Amazon devices. It is a magical experience that combines the best parts of a neighbourhood grocery store with Amazon.com s low prices and the expertise of passionate, knowledgeable staff who tailor their approach to the unique needs of each customer. While we use existing Amazon systems when possible, you ll be working on challenging problems that need innovative solutions specifically for all Amazon s brick and mortar store formats.Another important charter that the teams holds is a path breaking product used by many users in the JWO Tech (Just Walk Out / Amazon Go Stores). A new team is getting build to enhance a product that helps in achieving camera accuracy in the Go Stores. Its like a visualisation tool for any in-store activities by our customers.The ideal candidate is excited by technology, passionate about learning and should view every customer interaction as an opportunity to create an exceptional customer experience. We ll need to tackle problems that span a variety of domains: real-time, distributed systems and POS systems, JWO Systems.As an Software Engineer in Physical Store Tech, you will work in a team of talented engineers to build low-latency solutions for frontend (Javascript, CSS, hybrid), middle tier (Java, Spring) and backend (non-relational databases and other AWS services) as well as identify and evaluate new technology options for the challenges we are trying to solve. We are looking for a smart engineer who can effectively deal with ambiguity and work independently to clarify requirements, build prototypes and deliver results quickly. • 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline, or 4+ years professional experience in software development
• Fluency in Java, C# or other object-oriented languages.
• Passion and established experience for full stack software development
• Expertise in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design and complexity analysis.
• Ability to produce bullet-proof code that is fault-tolerant, efficient and maintainable.
• Strong architectural and system design skills with ability to do full stack development if required.
• Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with AWS and have built apps leveraging its offerings.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations.
