Job Description

  • About Tracking Platform - Tracking Platform collects user behaviroral data and combines with the service rules to provide a holistic picture of user behavior and derive different insights. This platform is used by PayPal and its tenants like Venmo, Xoom, Hyperwallet etc. We collect about 35Billion + events on a daily basis and growing exponentially. The tech stack used includes web and mid tier services built in scala/akka, kafka, elastic, hadoop/spark/hive, teradata, druid and Web UI on raptor for self analytics. The criticality of decisions made based on this data is paramount. Hence making sure of integrity, availability, adhering to SLA is critical as well. We need people who can work in a fast paced environment, adapt to constant change in technology and build highly scalable and resilient state of the art platforms.
  • Owns and is accountable for the design and development of core platform components
  • Spends most of the time coding and efficiently produces exemplary and thoroughly tested code for most challenging features
  • Produces clear, well-documented, complete designs for product features
  • Recognised as the go-to developer and is seen as a leader in their specialised field
  • Solid communication skills & proven team player.
Job Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in the software development.
  • Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, knowledge of object oriented design, Design Patterns and multi-threaded programming
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
Mandatory Skills.
  • Strong Java/Scala development skills
  • Strong scripting knowledge.
  • Hands on Building Restful Services.
  • Experience working on SQL, NoSQL solutions with clear understanding of pros and cons of both relational & Free form databases.
  • Knowledge and a particular interest in issues related to large scale distributed stream processing, realtime computation systems and behavioral analytics.
  • Ability to determine impact of architectural solutions and come up with Recommendations
  • A good understanding of Hadoop infrastructure and how application works in a distributed environment is a PLUS
