Job Description

We are looking to hire a senior principal software engineer that has experience building and running distributed systems. A candidate must have a proven record of experience working with distributed systems while also being able to reason about the design, architecture, and properties of such systems. As Pravega is open source, experience working with open-source communities is highly desirable.Essential Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in programming languages: Java, Golang, and Python
  • Kubernetes and Linux Containers
  • Experience building RESTful APIs-Experience working with Docker & Kubernetes
  • Strong fundamentals in distributed system design, development, and deployment using agile/DevOps practices
  • Experience with Agile development methodology and CI/CD-Experience with tools such as GIT, Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Concourse
  • A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
Desirable Requirements
  • Knowledge of stream analytics
  • Experience with Apache Zookeeper and Bookkeeper, Kafka, Spark/Flink, Security
