About the Position: Come and be part of the team, which is helping shape Juniper s vision of next generation data center and campus switching products and solutions. You will be an Individual Contributor, part of a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Packet Forwarding software for Juniper switching product lines. Responsibilities: Work closely with product management team developing requirements Carry out detailed Functional Specification, Architecture, design and implementation, unit testing, integration of packet forwarding, related device/ kernel drivers and other related software components for products and features. Design and develop L2- L3 network services with balance of quality and time to market. Design and implement complex algorithms with simple and easy to maintain code Able to articulate, document and communicate ideas across team Work closely with system and solution test teams to ensure correct and complete verification of software and components, for the feature to meet real- life network deployments. Work closely with Juniper Technical Assistance Team, for providing engineering assistance in supporting critical customer escalations for customer deployments. Software maintenance, including triage, analysis and code modification for reported problems Responsible for mentoring/ guiding junior engineers in the team for technical problem solving and building long term expertise in the team Be part of a culture that thrives on openness, transparency and more technical decisions in the hands of engineers Minimum Qualifications: A BE/ B.Tech or higher degree in Electronics/ Electrical/ Computer Engineering or equivalent 8- 12 years of experience as an individual contributor in a Networking Product development company. Strong C/ C++, system design, debugging skills and ability to handle customer escalations Preferred Qualifications: Experience with shared memory multiprocessor systems, technical leadership is a plus Thorough knowledge of L2/ L3 protocols Good knowledge of Router/ Switch architecture Strong problem- solving and communication skills required, with ability to work harmoniously in a dynamic group UNIX internals and systems software expertise in developing modular software for networking equipment. A strong understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, systems, data structures and programming practices Knowledge of software packaging, designing software APIs, make files in complex build environments Understanding of rapid network application development over standardized OS/ SDK layers A clear understanding of the product development cycle, technical requirements and project life cycle,
