AD Mainframe - Application DeveloperDepartment DescriptionThe Treasury Services Technology group in EMEA / ASIAPAC develops and supports systems for the Treasury Services business. Overall the group supports more than 50 applications across various technology platforms. The role that is available is within the Applications Development team working on the FUND Transfer System, FTS.FTS is an in-house developed application running on a mainframe using ADABAS, NATURAL & COBOL. This application supports 13 locations across EMEA handles high value and time critical payments each day.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking on projects as a Developer Responsibilities will include:Understanding Business Requirements, and Functional SpecificationsUnderstanding existing program logicProviding and/or agreeing estimates for required developmentCreation/ update of Detailed Design Specifications, Program Specifications, and program Version Control documentationCoding of new programs and changes to existing programsCreation of Unit Test Plans, and execution of Unit TestsPreparation and execution of Systems Test Plans and ScriptsProviding technical support for Quality Assurance (QA) TestingProviding technical support for User Acceptance TestingCreation of Implementation/ Backout Plans and Support Handover DocumentsProviding technical support for Production Implementations, and post-implementation support during implementation warranty periodKey SkillsSystems application development skillsStrong analysis & problem solving skillsStrong communication skills - both verbal and writtenAbility to work independently with limited supervisionProven ability to use own initiative to resolve issuesFull ownership of projects/tasksAbility and willingness to work under pressure, on multiple concurrent tasks, and to deliver to agreed deadlinesEagerness to learnStrong team working skillsExperience RequiredMultiple years Application Development experience in a mainframe environment, including coding using ADABAS/Natural and COBOL.Experience of development of CICS tasksExperience of mainframe facilities TSO, CA7, NDM, SYNCSORTExperience of MQ (message transfer process)Knowledge and experience of Microsoft PROJECT, WORD, EXCEL applicationsKnowledge of a Project Life Cycle with specific experience of the stages from Design through to Implementation.Experience of development of financial applications, including financial transaction processing, settlement, and accountingFamiliarity with SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) Message formats,
