Job Description

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. And best of all, you ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.The OpportunityWe are actively seeking a DevOps Engineer to be part of India AWM UNIX production support team and transform the teams towards DevOps. The candidate should be hands-on and should be actively work towards the changing mindset of the system administrators towards DevOps, while also providing support to AWM Tech functions. The Candidate will be managing & engineering Unix server hardware/assets, OS platforms, configurations, server builds, decommissions, backups, capacity management, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving server issues. He / She must be able to anticipate problems and analyze ways to mitigate the risks, articulates the business value and impact of advanced technical and non-technical information with ease, and knows when to seek management assistance. This position requires the ability to work with Technology engineers & Project Managers to deliver projects and design IT solution for our business. The candidate should be flexible to extend the working hours during crisis like P1 and late evening calls. Responsibilities

  • Partner with US team and work on projects, weekend tasks, HA Failsafe, maintenance etc.
  • Ensure that the server infrastructure is working fine, current and all updates are made in a timely manner
  • Improve productivity, supportability and efficiency by automation of the servers
  • Monitor the storage utilization for each application or location.
  • Analyzing more advanced technical problems and creating solutions to solve those issues using automation
  • Solving technical issues by collaborating and contributing ideas with the engineering, development, and operations teams
  • Monitoring and evaluating efficiency of system usage, storage and make recommendations to management to improve performance
  • Manage a high critical environment.
  • Should have good communication skills with the ability to deal with clients and management.
  • Install, support and maintain a Linux/AIX/Solaris infrastructure
  • Actively engage in troubleshooting efforts for OS, network, storage, and/or applications
  • Participate and provide support for AD/Operate.
  • Performance reporting and tuning

Qualifications
  • Linux Redhat 5.X about
  • AIX + VIO Administration
  • Solaris 8 above
  • Proficiency in HA solutions and Clustering Packages (e.g. VCS and Sun Cluster, HACMP)
  • Proficiency in one or more BC/DR products (SRDF and Application based Replication techniques)
  • Veritas Volume Manager
  • Shell Scripting
  • Storage Management: Locally Attached, SAN and NAS
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols and services (DNS, LDAP, HTTP, Ipfilters etc)
  • Ability to operate effectively with team members in different geographical location
