Job Description

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the worldApplication Build, Enhancement and Support of mainframe based applicationsWorking with onshore and offshore Mainframe Application Development and Technology teamsResolving Business Operations and Stakeholder enquiriesMaintenance and creation of process documentationLiaison with Business Stakeholders to freeze on application requirementsLiaison with CICS, DB2 and Development teamsEnthusiastic in providing Technical and Process improvements and optimizationsProvide clear, concise and accurate communication with internal & external stake holdersDocumenting issues and standard operating procedures for BAU support activitiesPerform Root Cause Analysis for frequent issues and ensure permanent resolutionUnderstanding Business Requirements, Functional Specifications & Environment capabilitiesThis role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Essential Skills & Experience Strong troubleshooting, analytical and technical problem solving skills Technical support of online and batch COBOL, DB2, VSAM and JCL Quick understanding of applications and program logics for providing Level1 support Providing and/or agreeing estimates for servicing project requests / requirements Proficient in Mainframe infrastructure Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate, navigate and influence diverse stake holders across business and technology and manage expectations Good team player Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals Demonstrated ability to build, motivate and lead a team within a project and a practice Strong understanding and experience in building reporting platforms and financial industry particularly investment management Experience in managing external vendors and implementing products Experience in both Run The Bank and Change The Bank tasks and initiatives Very good complex and consultative, solutioning and negotiation skills; Customer centricity being paramount Requirements facilitation, Business acumen with keen attention to risk management and value creation Business case creation and managementDesirable Skills & Experience Experience on Configuration Management tools such as Changeman or Endeavor Experience with coding in technologies such as Micro-Focus, REXX, CLIST, SAS, EASYTRIEVE is Preferable Prior experience in mainframe automation tasks Exposure investment Banking business
