Job Description

We re looking for a Test Engineer who ll be responsible for understanding of products functionality, developing test strategy/plans, test infrastructure, test cases to verify the software that controls/realizes the intended functionality in the products/systems. The role is required to focus on Test Automation and continuous improvements to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the execution scenarios.

You ll be part of the Signify Product Software R&D team of Business Hue Connected in Bangalore/India and its responsibilities are to develop and release the software functionality for various products of the business Hue Connected, so eagerness to learn, creativity/innovativeness, crisp communication, team player, focus on quality, timeliness, drive for continuous improvement must be in your DNA.

What you ll do
  • Lead and Contribute effectively to the Philips Hue Product software development/testing related activities
  • Play a key role in designing tests, test automation / test execution planning and executing / for the Philips Hue products/system software features/upgrades, and proposing different possible options and recommending the best options with clearly stated Pros and Cons, to cater to the requirements
  • Design and implement (as relevant) upgrades/features / releases and ensure consistent and efficient I&V and Release of the same
  • Adhere to the standards / processes followed by making sure your deliverables are reviewed, taking part in peer reviews, participate in quality audits, checks
  • Actively engage in internal relationships by way of Daily Stand Ups, Team Meetings, Retrospectives, Sprint Planning and Grooming Sessions, CCBs, Release Meetings towards project estimation, planning, testing and risk management activities

What you ll need

  • Bachelor/Masters in Engineering with 7 to 12 years of experience in product software testing and test automation activities
  • Depth in Embedded Products SW Testing/Verification experience, Integrated Systems Big Picture view
  • Scripting Skillset, Good Knowledge of Test/Automation Frameworks, Test Case/SW Development and Rich Experience and High ownership w.r.t. to software testing/verification of Embedded Products and Systems
    • Experience in programming in C#, Python, windows batch programming
    • Usage of tools - Jenkins, nUnit, Git, SVN, Visual Studio, ReSharper
    • Knowledge on following wireless standards Zigbee, BLE, Wifi
    • Usage of embedded tools like, Power analyzer, oscilloscope, multimeter, firmware programmers will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge on video domain and technologies like HDMI standards
  • Behavioral Competencies: Team Player, Strong influencing skills, Accurate and dependable, Can work to deadlines, Strong communicator
