Job Description

The primary focus of a Sales Consultant (Pre-sales) is to become an expert in a core set of Oracle products and solutions and to present the value proposition and benefits of our solutions to our partners, prospects and customers and internally to our sales forceAs a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision, through on-line/in person sales efforts. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Internet Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships. Support sales team in online/in-person selling efforts with minimal supervision. Develop and deliver proposed solution to customers. Approximate percentage of face to face interaction with customers to perform responsibilities is 10%Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable., As part of our team s charter to fuel the market expansion of Oracle Autonomous Cloud Services we are looking for highly skilled professionals with an extensive expertise focused on Oracle Database & Analytics, for the position of a Solution Engineer (Pre-sales Sales Consultant), a resource who enjoys challenges, enjoys working in a dynamic environment, and is passionate for technology and innovation.As a Solutions Engineer, you will partner with customers, sales and several other Oracle teams to design highly scalable, flexible and resilient Data Management and Business Analytics solution architectures. You will provide in-person and/or remote pre-sales support to drive revenue growth across a broad range of customers.As a trusted customer advisor, the Solutions Engineer will help organizations understand best practices around advanced On-Premise, Cloud-based and hybrid solutions, as well as how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud.The Solution Engineer will focus on variety of sales opportunities, including large or complex opportunities requiring creative and complex solutions, will stay updated on latest Oracle software releases and future directions, develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations through in-person or remote methods, will present and articulate Oracle s product strengths, features, benefits, value proposition and competitive advantages.The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in Oracle software/technology sales or consulting. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with an ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to Solution Engineers role.Here are some other qualities we are looking for:

Roles and Responsibilities
  • In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of Oracle solutions around the Oracle Autonomous Cloud portfolio (please refer to cloud.oracle.com)
  • Own and define Roadmap helping customers to take the full benefit of adopting Oracle Cloud Platform and specifically Oracle Autonomous Cloud Services including Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW), Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).
  • Provide a superior customer experience using Oracle Cloud, ensuring that results are aligned to customer s business.
  • Use deep customer understanding to deliver competitive advantage.
  • Participate actively in the internal community and proactively contribute to the growth of Consulting Intellectual Property asset library sharing know how, experiences, collaterals etc. Share best-practice knowledge amongst the Oracle community.
  • Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the Oracle platform.
  • Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of Oracle, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment.
  • Conduct one-to-one and one-to-many presentations, workshops and training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using Oracle solutions.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customer, solution engineering and support teams.
Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in consulting/ design/implementation around Oracle Database and related technology like Security, Availability, Manageability etc.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Business Analytics.
  • Knowledge of at least one specific industry and its market.
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehouse Concepts / Design and implementation including Data Analysis, Data Modeling, Data Architecture and Data Integration.
  • Knowledge on Oracle s Autonomous offerings: Autonomous Datawarehouse (ADW) and Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP).
  • Advantage having experience of full lifecycle development projects, especially with Oracle database technologies, strong PL / SQL skills.
  • Strong results-oriented attitude during customer facing activities such as the ability to identify quick win solutions based on customer needs.
  • Feel comfortable in developing and presenting solutions to IT as well as Business users using the appropriate approach and language.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Education: Bachelor s degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience of migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise services from Oracle competitors (i.e., Microsoft, IBM, SAP, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Hands-on knowledge of installation, implementation and design of database schema.
  • Sound knowledge on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Databases associated with 3rd party technology and platforms.
  • Strong knowledge on Oracle High Availability and Disaster Recovery offerings and how it competes with other players in market.
  • In-depth knowledge of advance database technologies like Performance Tuning, Encryption, Partitioning & Compression.
  • In-depth knowledge of backup and recovery procedures for production databases.
  • Real world hands-on experience of at least 3 enterprise-class production databases.
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives (up to C-level), IT Management, and developers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills to present at events, workshops delivered on-site or via remote digital technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
