Job Description

Solutions Architect - Data Center NetworkingThis role has been designated as Edge , which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.The Data Center Solution Architect will be an expert in modern data center reference architectures (CLOS leaf/spine) including standardized protocols VXLAN/BGP EVPN. He/she will guide customers in the evolution of their architecture from legacy Layer 2 to modern Layer 3 (underlay/overlay) articulating the benefits of this transition for the customer applications. Knowledge of virtualization technologies (Linux KVM, VMware ESX/NSX) and containers (Kubernetes) is a must as how applications stitch to this networking stack. Technologies associated to the automation and orchestration of these deployments (Python scripting, Ansible playbooks, Rest APIs ) will be a major plus for the candidate demonstrating not only the knowledge of networking protocols, but how to accelerate the overall Time to Service in a highly predictable and repeatable manner.How youll make your mark:

  • You will develop organization-wide architectures and methodologies for design and development of complex products, platforms, systems, software, and technology across multiple engineering disciplines, platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.
  • You will identify and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
  • You will review and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; integrates suggestions, updates, and innovations into overall architecture.
  • You will leverage recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.
  • You will provide guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of engineering design innovation and excellence.
About you:
  • You have a bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, and 6 years experience.
Skills:
  • Experienced using, evaluating, and developing networking reference architectures, first and foremost for data centers, but expanding to Campus and WAN as well.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experienced conducting reviews of RFIs/RFPs resulting in detailed answers (reference architectures, detailed product specifications, business and competitive advantages
  • Experienced evaluating and selecting forms of empirical analysis, modelling and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications
  • You have a history of innovation with examples of developing new technologies and practices for designs
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
