Functional Job Title: Sr. Associate - Client & Competitive Insights Reports to: Jai Kapoor , Research & Analytics Accountabilities: Competitive Intelligence , Primary Research , Data Analytics Department/ Division: Research & Analytics CoE , Global Marketing , Bangalore Background : The Client & Competitive Insights Analyst will be focusing on driving insights through research & internal data to enable decision making for Global Marketing organization This position will be focused on the following: Industry Intelligence (Best Practices , Emerging trends , Topical deep dives) Competitive Intelligence (Marketing strategy , messaging & positioning , benchmarking , social media listening) Primary Market research (Survey designing , questionnaire building , data analytics and insights reporting) Client analytics (analytics of client specific data from internal tools and sources) Data Management & Visualization (Knowledge of Tableau , R or Python is preferred) Key stakeholders include business and product marketing , thought leadership and client communications Strong knowledge of data sources required: eg. Factiva , Ignites , FundFire , Capital IQ , Bloomberg , One Source , EIU etc. to identify and analyze data as per business needs Knowledge of survey data analytics including interpreting cross tab data , triangulation of secondary & primary research data , ing statistical techniques to the data to generate relevant insights Experience and Knowledge of working in financial services industry is a strongly preferred Ability to manage multiple projects independently and mentor junior resources on the team Knowledge of consulting frameworks (BCG Matrix , Ansoff Matrix , Porter s 5 Forces) and strong storyboarding skills He/ She should be able to translate business objective into an analysis project plan , identify data from multiple sources , synthesize quantitative & qualitative data to develop presentations for senior management Goal of the position: Handle end to end Competitive & Client Intelligence to develop insights for product , marketing campaigns , competition and thought leadership strategy Responsibilities & Tasks Include: Be a key member of the research & analytics team and contribute to end - to - end project lifecycle from project conceptualization to design , analysis and presentation of findings & recommendations Independently develop project approach , generate hypothesis , collect data from various sources (business research , primary research , social media , internal client specific data) , leverage qualitative & quantitative skills to interpret data and present insights Handle variety of end to end research studies to support business & product marketing , thought leadership articles & whitepapers , sales enablement decks and reputation (social media) management Merge research data with customer behavior data from other sources to develop comprehensive insights on a given topic largely for B2B segment (and sometimes also B2C segment) Leverage data tools and techniques to assemble , organize , clean and store data: use of VBA / macros for automation , Tableau for visualization and R / Python / SQL for analysis Advise marketing functions on data requirements necessary to perform desired analyses and derive actionable insights; Participate and drive discussions related to process optimization Demonstrate consultative / problem solving attitude on a daily basis to participate in brainstorming , follow up on action planning based on findings Job Requirements: Ability to plan scope and approach for the projects Ability to translate quantitative & qualitative data into insights and actionable recommendations Ability to integrate data sets to create a comprehensive and original point of view Ability to communicate complex data concepts to marketing leaders and other functions in a simple and concise manner Education and Experience: Master s degree in Business , Marketing , Consumer Behavior , or Statistics with a strong record of achievement 2 - 8 years of relevant professional experience in the field of business research , competitive intelligence , customer insights or customer analytics Skills required: Strong expertise in Research & Analytical Concepts (hypothesis development , data sources , survey analytics , data triangulation , data cleaning & management , storyboarding & insight generation) Exposure to investment / fund management / financial services industry is a strong plus Understanding of basic statistical techniques such as correlation , regression analysis , hypothesis testing , tops down and bottoms up market estimation , time series techniques etc. Familiarity with tools such as R / Python / Tableau is preferred Proficiency in Excel , MS word , PowerPoint etc. is a must Exposure to any of the social media tools is a big plus (Radian 6 , Hoot Suite , Sprinklr etc.) Ability to look at discrete pieces of data (qualitative & quantitative) from various studies / data sources , and create compelling storyboarding that is relevant to the business needs Strong communication skills with ability to create executive level presentations , interact with & manage stakeholders and present findings in a concise manner Project management skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal supervision , sometimes under tight deadlines , ability to manage dependencies and prioritize appropriately A good team player with an ongoing desire to go beyond project - specific work , be creative , and bring new ideas to improve the overall data management and analytics process,
