Job Description

Position: Sr. Engineer (Sr. AS400 Developer)

Position Team Overview:

This position will be a part of our Back office Travel Finance application team which part of larger Global Technology Team. Team will be responsible for time bound delivery of identified developmental projects on AS/400 technologies.

We are a dynamic team of passionate specialists involved in designing creating the newest solutions dedicated to various back office initiatives like interface with Global Distribution System (GDS Amadeus , Travel Port , Sabre) , Quality check on interfaced travel record , interface with General Ledger , interface with Card acquirer and Billing . Team also plays important role in implementing various travel products on technology platform ,

We are looking team player candidates attitude focus to cope with challenges on a daily basis.

You are passionate about using technology to solve business problems. You are comfortable working with clients and their end users and translating their needs to technical teams. You have deep experience managing large multicultural teams to complete complex technology projects on time and within budget.

We are offering you a very demanding role where you will use the most advanced AS400 technology stack to implement the newest solutions in the travel industry. This position includes possibility to interact within international environment and work with the most recognizable and influential players in the travel fraternity.

Primary Responsibilities

Working with business team to gather requirements and translate in to Business Requirement Document(BRD).

Develop technical design document working with Application Architect based on BRD

Develop Physical design considering impact analysis on internal and external applications connected to back office system

Programming on AS400 technologies viz RPG/400 , RPGLE , CLLE , SQL

Define Test Plan and perform unit and string testing

Provide support for User Acceptance Testing Post Implementation

Resolve issues reported by users based on criticality of the impact on internal and external customers.

Skill Set Background

  • Extensive knowledge on AS/400 platform includes RPG/400, RPGILE , CLLE , SQL/400 , SQLRPGLE and DB2/400 is necessary
  • Hands on Experience on change management tools TURNOVER , TAATOOL , HAWKEYE
  • Experience on Web Service development on AS/400 platform is preferred
  • Working experience on Integrated File System , Net Working concepts on AS/400 platform
  • Advanced skills in analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and maintaining application code on Back office application
  • Demonstrated experience in application development, complex code development, application testing and component design.
  • Experience on Travel Domain is an added advantage
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of technology architectural concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to a non- technical audience.
  • Ability to create technical documentation
  • Strong team- player and self- started attitude

Competencies Technical Skills Known

  • Professional development experience on AS/400 platform
  • 5 years of software development experience and solid understanding of programming concepts.
  • Bachelors or Master s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MS or related field.
