Search Jobs Job DescriptionVMware Telco and Edge Cloud business unit partners with the world s leading Communications Service Providers to drive cloud technologies into their core network, edge and RAN environments. The approach is to leverage cloud infrastructure platforms across a hybrid cloud- edge, telco, private and public. The Solutions Management team within VMware s Telco and Edge Cloud BU, is responsible for defining and creating an end-to-end (E2E) validated solution for a specific Telco use case, by leveraging both VMware TEC BU products as well as relevant partner products.In addition to powering the next generation transformation of Telco operator networks, 5G Technology is also positioned to revolutionize Private Cellular Network (PCN) space. 5G is tipped to become the connectivity standard for several use cases where massive bandwidth, ultra-low latency, and secure communications are critical needs. To make this a reality, VMware is creating end-to-end validated Private Connectivity solution with specific partners. The Sr. Solutions Manager would be the key person shepherding the cross-functional, cross-company team in designing, developing, and delivering the PCN solution.This position will be based in Bengaluru, India.Responsibilities:

• Define VMware s Private Connectivity solution based on market inputs, customer needs, and partner capabilities.
• Develop the Solution MRD by collaborating closely with field, marketing, and partners to capture the market size, business use cases, and the solution MVP (Minimum Viable Product)
• Drive interactions with the Solution partners and develop the Solution roadmap. Also, map the roadmap to the market segments and business use cases satisfied through the roadmap
• Devise the Solution BOM, that includes both VMware products as well as partner products. The BOM should deliver the solution defined in the MRD.
• Collaborate with the TEC BU Product Management (PM) team as well partner PM teams to ensure relevant capabilities are provided by the component products.
• Maintain continuous discussion with Sales and lighthouse customers to adapt the product roadmap and MVP to meet market needs.
• Collaborate closely with the System Integrator(s) and develop a commercial Telco grade offering, that covers Day 0 and Day 2 operations
• Be the chief evangelist for the joint solution in conferences, partner engagements, and customer meetings
• Collaborate effectivity with the cross-functional team across partner companies and system integrator to ensure timely delivery of the devised solution
• Working closely with the Sales Enablement team, train the global sales team on the essential value propositions and capabilities of the joint solution
• Provide direction to a team of global architects responsible for the design, creation, and validation of the Private Cellular Network solution
• Work with the Marketing organization to create Demos and PoCs that showcase the overall value proposition

Requirements:

• 12 years of experience defining and delivering Telco grade solutions, with specific emphasis on partner collaboration
• Strong business and technical acumen to understand both the expressed and unexpressed customer need and create the most successful Private Cellular Network solution in the market
• Deep understanding of Edge computing, Private Cellular Networks, 5G/4G RAN, MEC and SD-WAN is strongly desired
• Good working knowledge of virtualization technologies and converged infrastructure stack across server, storage, and networking, including containers (K8s) is recommended.
• Prior knowledge of VMware virtualization stack (vSphere, NSX, TKG) would be a strong plus
• Good understanding of network stack and routing/switching is required, including TCP/IP, MPLS, L2, L3, VLANs, VXLAN, QoS markings, traffic classifications and prioritization.
• Strong understanding of SDN/NFV concepts
• Be a Telco enthusiast, having internal motivation to follow ground-breaking market trends and willingness to learn new concepts
• Strong project management and collaboration skills that helps one to deliver a complex solution comprised of multiple moving blocks, each coming from different company/organization
• Strong people leadership skills and extensive experience in customer facing role
• Should be a quick learner of new technologies and be self-sufficient in solution instantiation. Would be expected to bring up the platform completely alone and stand up the complete E2E solution with minimal guidance from others in the team.
• Graduate degree in computer science/engineering and an MBA
