Job Description

A self-service interface allows users to create custom combinations of these services in isolated software-based virtual networks that support existing applications without modification or deliver unique requirements for new application workloads. Similar to virtual machines in compute, virtual networks are programmatically provisioned and managed independent of networking hardware.   • Lead the escalation team on complex escalations.
    • Communicate technically complex remedies, solutions or work-around in a clear and concise manner to customer or partner and first line managers
    • Create knowledge base content for internal and external use.
  • Leverage internal technical expertise, including peers, mentors, knowledge base, community forums and other internal tools, to provide the most effective solutions to customer issues.
  • Acts as a GSS interface to product development and engineering by providing customer experience trend information, product improvement recommendations and formal product supportability recommendations.
  • Support various customer enablement and partner events - deliver public speaking and presentations.
  • Design, develop and document innovative customer solutions based on hands-on knowledge of the multiple VMware product line
  • Participate and partner with product development to help define and contribute in the creation of progressive integration solutions and tooling based on customer requirements contribute directly to the delivery of these solutions through scripting, coding, testing, documenting, demonstrating and/or showcasing as part of a team.
  • Assume technical leadership role for any new releases/products with respect to strategy and readiness.
  • Perform analysis and design of one or more projects, having significant latitude in performing technical work. (Ex: New product release, efficiency enhancement)
  • Assess Training gaps and enable required content to fill those gaps
  • Mentor TSEs on technical and business acumen
Core Competencies
  • 10-12 years of relevant support industry experience.
  • Been in a technical leadership role.
  • Proficient in OS/Storage and Network architecture and hardware/Software Dependencies
  • Ability to understand/debug issues using various debug tools, code review etc.
  • Planning support for mission critical applications for major releases, both business and infrastructure related
  • Technical Writing/Presentation Skills
  • Identifying and establishing best practices around troubleshooting, disaster recovery, and other areas, as necessary.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture methodologies (Ex: TOGAF.)
  • Proficient in design/develop tools relating to troubleshooting.
