Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:Formulate and implement plan for maintenance/operations of Tablet ,Packing and Capsule filling Machinery, develop vendors, train & develop reportees, develop/review SOPs, and provide Engineering support to meet Company requirements.KEY RESULT AREA:
• Prepare and implement Engineering plan for maintenance & operation of all tablet, packing and HPMG Capsule filling production/process equipments.
• Ensure Compliance with all regulatory norms & liaison with various statutory authorities.
• Identify, develop vendors for supply of equipments, spares etc., Negotiate & implement A M CS for various equipments, machines instruments etc., Develop contractors for plant maintenance & projects.
• Developing reportees by identifying training needs & implementing the same. Motivate reportees by evaluating performance, allocating responsibilities, developing skills etc.,
• Monitor implementation of GMP & PPE norms in department & ensure compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :To understand companys business and have knowledge of engineering equipment services and maintenance requirements of the plant.To guide the team to implement the engineering plan for maintenance of all tablet, packing and HPMG Capsule filling production/process equipments., prioritize work and managing engineering team at site.
• Plan and execute engineering projects / new equipment installation.
• Monitor allocation of Man Power and availability of inputs and ensure. Completion of work on time.
• Identify and select vendors for supply of equipment, spares, and contractual work, negotiate prices, AMCs and project costing.
• Prepare engineering budget and seek approval and monitor expenses.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and attend breakdowns of all tablet, packing and HPMG Capsule filling production/process equipments.
• Ensure timely availability of spares and equipments to prevent loss of production.
• Liaise with other departments to solve bottle necks and other problems.
• Ensure maintenance of records with respect to expenses, plans, bills, sanctions and other Govt. Compliances.
• Ensure maintenance of other records in the department.
• To ensure all sops and training need is evaluated in co-ordination with QA
• Know your Staff and their capabilities and ensure on job training of Supervisors / Operators / Casuals and act as mentor.
• Maintain Good Interpersonal Relationship & networking with superiors, peers & Subordinates.
• Maintain Shop Floor Discipline, Solve Routine Problems and handle Grievances proactively through counseling.
• Lead, guide & motivate department teams for higher efficiency, innovation, and teamwork.
• Carry out performance evaluation, counseling & recommend recognition / reward / reprimand
• Liaison with other department to gain information, resources & take help for day-to-day activities.
• Ensure requisition of consumables and follow up for timely delivery and exercise control on consumption.
• Handle routine matters at shop floor such as Leave Planning, Absenteeism, and misconducts.
• Ensure GMP compliances in respect of dress code, wearing of jewelry, haircut, nail polish etc.
• Ensure proper door culture.
• Co-ordinate with QA department for periodic validation of HVAC water system and calibration activities.
• Co-ordination with Validation and qualification of process and equipments.
• To prepare the qualification documents (URS, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ) related to Utility & HVAC Equipments.
• To initiate and handle the CAPA, Deviation, Risk assessment & Impact assessment related to utility and HVAC equipment.
• To find out the Route cause analysis related to all tablet, packing and HPMG Capsule filling production/process equipment Failure.
Joint Responsibility:
• Relating to quality, maintain the design, effective implementation and maintaining of pharmaceutical Quality System.
• Participation in management review meeting for review of process performance product quality and continual improvement plan.
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY AND CONTROL:
• Authorized to alter Engineering Plan in consultation with AVP Engineering.
• Planning and monitoring of projects and management of vendors
• Performance Appraisal of direct reporters.
• Recommendations for Promotion / Employee of the Month.
• Sanction of Over Time using discretion to meet exigencies. Handle grievances and recommend disciplinary action Also have shared responsibility relating to quality including the design, effective implementation monitoring and maintaining of pharmaceutical Quality System
• Participation in management review meeting for review meeting for review of process performance product quality and continual improvement plan
• To report and ensure timely and effective communication of escalation process to raise quality issues to appropriate action and resource
PROBLEMS / KEY FEATURES:
• Criticality of utilities & maintenance services for productivity at site.
• To support all inter departments at site to achieve their goals
