Strategic Vendor Manager, Sr. I

Job Description

Job ResponsibilitiesPlans and implements activities related to the purchasing of materials, equipment and services for internal company use. Develops, communicates, and enforces company policies and procedures for purchasing. Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount. May negotiate major contracts involving large dollar amounts. Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major contracts and subcontracts. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

• Responsible for managing Lam India Indirect procurement, that includes organize and control business/contracts/negotiations for strategic acquisition of materials and services of technical or contractual nature
• Responsible for driving supplier contract management, conducting supplier negotiations, analytically formulating, and executing comprehensive supplier management strategies based on competitive quotes and with long term benefit for the company
• Leads the 2 to 3 team members of indirect procurement
• Represents Site Ops in cross-functional team meetings and projects, that focuses on supply challenges and ensures internal/external customer needs are satisfied.
• Take lead in dealing complex contracts which improve efficiency of company operations and other functional areas.
• Define and monitor metrics in line with AOP (annual operating plan) objectives relative to supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement
• Monitors all procurement from initiation through purchase order/ Contract release including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending.
• Responsible for SOX compliance
• Conduct interviews and meetings with new vendors.
• Ensure enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished.
• Regularly evaluate cost and quality performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection
• Timely communication of project priorities in alignment with business needs with relevant stakeholders
• Ensure Statutory compliances of the contracts issued with vendor
• Identify, streamline, and implements improvement in indirect procurement process as appropriate.
• Develop and apply a strategic commodity for IT, Facilities, Engineering service and material plan to define a preferred supplier base Crystalize the vision convert in to program milestones and execute successful deliverable
• Responsible for implementing global business process, Tools, and application

Other Job Responsibilities

• Experience in managing Indirect procurement of a company in Facilities, EHS, IT, HR, Finance, Engineering service contracts and Materials
• Knowledge of Purchase Requisition / Purchase Order processing in SAP
• Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills and professional level of emotional intelligence necessary to achieve the desired objective deliverables
• Ability to analyze business cases, analyze and optimize financial impact
• Skill in decision making and problem solving in the absence of complete or accurate data, with a bias towards taking action
• Stakeholder management, both within various global organizations of the company and customer facing sales team across multiple geographical locations
• Exhibit attention to detail, sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment
• Demonstrating strong negotiation skills
• Good presentation and communication skills
• Understanding of Finance & Budgeting preferable
• Understanding of direct procurement

Minimum QualificationsEligibility Criteria:

• Years of Experience:
  • 12-15 years of experience
• • At least 7-10 years of working experience in Indirect Procurement Management with a strong network and proven relationships
  • 3-5 + years experience in program/project management
• Educational Qualificatons:
  • University degree or above
  • OR
  • Preferably B.E / B. Tech degree in any field of Engineering
  • OR
  • MBA preferably in supply chain and Operations Management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor or other capital equipment industry
• Experience in engineering product development procurements, clean rooms, mechanical and Electrical lab
