TE Connectivity s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.ROLE OBJECTIVEThe Supervisor Electrical & Testing Engineer will report to the Product Design Team Manager, Energy and will be a member of Energy s Bangalore Engineering Design Center team. The role will be responsible for electrical design of products and sustaining engineering support for TE Energy products as well as managing a team of test engineers and technicians.What your background should look like:RESPONSIBILITIESDesigning TE Energy products for LV, MV & HV applications using metallic and polymer materialsManage and supervise the Test engineering team with responsibility for a wide variety of testing activities for Energy Business Unit.Electrical simulation and modelling using relevant software tools (COMSOL, ANSYS, ELECTRO or similar)Assist Energy s global engineering teams with New Product Developments across a range of projects and executing on cost optimization/reduction (VA/VE) opportunities for the businessReverse Engineering competitor productsPreparing design verification test plans, Design & Process FMEAsRecording results of design reviews and design decision meetings and report writingSuccessfully facilitate transfer and support of new product introduction (NPI) into high volume manufacturing.Design of jigs & fixtures for product testing where required.Support product compliance and approvals for all new products and platforms as required by our customers.Be a strong technical partner and provide support to Product management teams. Attend/support customer meetings, technology days and site visits as required.EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGEElectrical Engineering DegreeOrganized, methodical and self-motivated individual with the ability to work under minimal supervision, on own initiative and meet own commitments is essential.Experience with product design of connectors for high-voltage power networks and/or network accessories is essential7 to 10 years of engineering related experience for Energy market applications and with more than 3 years experience supervising and leading an engineering teamKnowledge in connector product design utilizing aluminum and copper materialsKnowledge of designing grounding connector systems an advantageKnowledge of materials properties (permittivity, conductivity, permeability, dissipation factor, influence of temperature and field stress)Experience in 3D CAD design tools such as CreoExperience in reverse engineering an advantageLDFSS or DMAIC 6-sigma black or green belt an advantageFamiliarity with ANSI, UL, IEEE, IEC connector specifications an advantageProfessional Engineer an advantageProficient in MS Office suiteWillingness to travelFluent EnglishFrench (advantage)Critical ExperienceProven ability to execute on engineering deliverablesStrong customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time and within company cost and profitability objectives.Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with own team, customers, internal business leaders and technology leaders to create value.Individual must be self-motivated and require minimum supervision, have strong planning skills and be able to deal with and balance multiple competing prioritiesExcellent motivational skills: a person with the ability to achieve goals and the highest standards of performance in a dynamic fast paced environment.Attention to detail and on time deliveryExcellent judgment, timely and high-quality decision-making skillsClear, strategic thinker with the ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems.,
