Job Description

Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server/network capacity. Propose client configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Work with others to define, coordinate vendor purchase needs. Responsible for support documentation as well.Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Oracle delivers enterprise-grade, end-to-end managed cloud services across its broad portfolio of business applications, middleware, database, and hardware technologies.To manage MCS Infrastructure, we are looking for System Administrators and Storage administrators. As part of Managed Infrastructure team, You will have opportunity to work on a 24X7 mission critical infrastructure running 1000 s of servers spanning multiple data centers across different geographies.Responsibilities:The Infrastructure Systems/Storage Administrator will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, day to day administration of core infrastructure components, including the management of incoming service requests, ongoing operational tasks, Maintenance of systems hardware and software, developing automation to operate infrastructure as code and handling escalations.As a member of Managed Cloud Infrastructure group working in a fast paced environment the individual is expected to be highly technical with strong communication skills to handle critical escalations and customer communication. The role is 24X7 support role with a expectation that Individual can work 24X7 rotational shifts and if need be available on call for critical escalations.The individual will ensure all system alerts, customer requests, scheduled activities and escalations are addressed within committed SLA with zero defects. Also, the individual is expected to actively participate, contribute and lead automation initiatives that can increase operational efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction.Requirements:Educational Qualification:

  • B. Tech / MCA (Preferred) in Computer/Electronics Engineering
  • Certifications and Training: RHCE / SCSA/ SCNA /MCP
Experience: 5 - 8 yearsDepartment Description:MCS provides worldwide IT infrastructure services to enable Oracles Success.As part of Managed Cloud Service (MCS) Storage team, Storage Administrator provides remote support to various storage devices deployed in Oracle Datacenter. Oracle DataCenters are spread across various locations globally and host business critical customer Production and DR environments.Detailed Description and Job Requirements:Define, design, and implement Storage solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server/storage capacity. React to potential problems using automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools -- escalating to management where appropriate. Participate in configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Responsible for support documentation as well.Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. 5-8 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment.Additional Details:* Extensive experience in NAS/SAN storage administration in a production environment.* Must be good in provisioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and decommission of Storage platforms like Netapp, Sun Storage 74XX and Pillar Axiom in Production environment.* Must have sound knowledge on NAS/NFS, SMB, iSCSI, SAN, FCP, iSCSI, CIFS setup.* Experience in Migrating legacy environments to Cloud and Managing Cloud environments.* Good knowledge of Cloud technologies such as AWS/AZURE/OCI.* Should have strong programming skills on Shell Scripting/Perl/ Python / Ruby .* Experience on Linux, Solaris is must, knowledge of windows is added advantage.* Knowledge on ZFS Filesystem management would be an advantage.* Knowledge on Puppet / Mcollective would be an advantage.* Must have a strong background in SAN configuration, management and troubleshooting. Brocade DCX and 5000 series FC switches, along with experience of EFCM/DCFM management software. Knowledge of areas such as FC routing protocols, particularly in a Brocade fabric, would be advantageous, as would experience with end to end SAN management tools* Good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team and also independently* Good technical writing skills* Candidate must be versatile, long-term visionary, a team-player, and enjoys working with new technologies in a fast-paced technology environment.* Tier 4 Datacenter experience is added advantage* Oracle Database knowledge is added advantage* ITIL certification is added advantage* Must be willing to work in rotational shifts (24*7)
