This may include creating production hardware management workflows and tools, test cluster orchestration setup, and performance benchmarking environments. You ll dive deep into operational issues and propose technical and cultural changes to retain and improve the customer experience.Other responsibilities include being an active reviewer of the team s technology solutions and operations and helping new teammates understand the team s customers, systems, and processes. You will also be responsible for thoroughly diagnosing problems in all aspects of operations, including hardware, software, and operating environments.About the teamWe are a team within the DynamoDB Core Technology organization that provide infrastructure services for the DynamoDB service and own the process new region build-out for DynamoDB. These infrastructure services include the on-boarding and qualification of new hardware platforms, developing and maintaining test environment frameworks, production deployment pipeline definition and maintenance.,
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or four years of equivalent experience
• 1+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Network Administration, AWS Cloud App development, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering
• 1+ years of experience building automated tools or services in Java, Python, Node.js, Bash, REST APIs, and JSON encoding
• Experience with agile software development practices
• 2+ years of proven operating systems knowledge Linux/Unix
• 2+ years experience in a large-scale software development environment.
• Working experience and good understanding of the AWS environment, including VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, Cloud Formation/CDK
• Working knowledge of operating a database or storage system, or any large-scale cloud infrastructure services
• Hands on experience with monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues
• A history of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in a dynamic environment
• Must be a self-starter and motivated
• Experience with maintaining distributed systems and web services
• Understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
• Automation, testing or monitoring framework development
• System engineering experience in the cloud
