Job Description

  • The primary purpose of the VMS Security Analyst is to detect and identify vulnerable systems and configurations ( cyber threats ) using a wide range of security solutions (Vulnerability scanners etc.). You will be part of the Global Vulnerability Management practice, operating within the VMS team in association with the following eGRC technologies TE, CCM, FIM, RMS, and Qualys.
  • Detecting potential security incidents or anomalies.
  • Responding to security alerts generated by Qualys, CCM, FIM, RMS, and TE tooling.
  • Analysing alerts to determine validity, priority and impact.
  • Assist with supporting established accounts to include; monitoring of services, production of reports, configuration of tools and services.
  • Manage escalations to senior staff members when necessary.
  • Assist with mentoring of junior staff members where required.
Role:
  • Apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to all work undertaken.
  • Develop skills and knowledge with the support of the VMS Service Manager and group peers.
  • Contribute effectively to the day-to-day function of role.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Qualys Key Responsibilities:
  • Accept, assess and resolve Qualys support incidents, change control requests, service requests and occasional phone calls.
  • Manage incidents and problems to minimize impact on the business users, escalate recurrences of serious incidents for priority permanent resolution.
  • Early identification of when 3rd line support team involvement is required.
  • Assist in maintaining technical support documentation.
  • Support level 1 staff and assist with mentoring through training programme and daily duties.
  • Deployment of new Qualys instances for new customers according to Qualys documentation and supplied HLD/LLD
  • Manage and drive Qualys agent deployment
  • Maintain Qualys authentication accounts provided by business units
  • Identify unplanned changes and tag accordingly
  • Escalate and report on potential security issues to the appropriate business unit contacts
  • Manage and drive Qualys security system upgrades
  • Define and create new reporting for compliance for use by Level 1 staff
  • Perform operational tasks via a CLI and MS Windows desktop; the successful candidate will require to SSH and RDP into service infrastructure
