Job Description

This role will lead a team that supports the General Ledger Accounting, Reporting/Systems and Fixed Assets processes, ensuring its quality and effectiveness. This role ensures company assets are secured by applying tight controls in the financial transactions, while providing accurate financial information and timely reporting of balances. The role supports continuous improvement projects to provide highly effective and efficient end-to-end processes. This role will be required to work in Europe shift timing.Service Delivery Operational oversight to provide services at expected levels with a clear custom-er focus, including handling the exceptions. Provides functional guidance to the team members. Interacts proactively within the service center to ensure accurate accounting, and financial reporting. Resolve all escalated issues and disputes. Ensures productivity, continuous improvements and seamless service Collaborates with key stakeholders, including accounting authorities/auditors Ensures successful transitions and knowledge transfer, monitoring critical deliv-erables Drives operational excellence and ensures full alignment with all Novartis busi-ness, compliance and audit requirements. Develops, measures and delivers services to agreed service levels and SLA/KPI targets for the function. Ensures all team members maintain appropriate standards of technical compe-tence. Supervises staff who are responsible for delivery and provides continuous coach-ing to ensure that are functioning at optimal levels. Manage day-to-day activities: General Ledger Accounting Reporting/Systems Fixed Assets Compliance Ensure all processes, policies and procedures are clearly defined, fully docu-mented, in line with Alcon s accounting standards and consistent with best prac-tices. Ensure compliance with Alcon s Financial Controls and regulatory requirements and implementation in internal guidelines Ensure application of agreed Alcon control procedures and actively support to deliver SOX certification Promote a strong and control environment and follow up on audit issues and implement correcting measuresMinimum requirementsMinimum: University degree, preferably Bachelor of Accounting /Commerce Minimum: English (written and spoken) Minimum: 3-5 years of relevant experience with an outsourcing or financial service organization. Experience supporting shared service functions preferred but not required.,
