Technical Graduate InternJob DescriptionThe Wireless Communications Research team in Intel Labs is looking for a research intern with exceptional academic qualifications and motivation to engage in research in the areas of Machine Learning for Computer Vision and Video Compression. In this position, you will be working with a small team of researchers responsible for conceiving, developing, and prototyping new algorithms for enabling efficient networked video analytics systems with distributed computation between end devices, edge gateways and cloud servers. You will use your strong mathematical and algorithmic background to identify and develop new Machine Learning based algorithms that advance the state of the art in video analytics and video compression broadly applicable to a range of potential research areas including object detection/tracking, pose estimation, action recognition etc. A comprehensive technical understanding of the state of the art as well as strong verbal and written communication skills are required.Qualifications Pursuing a Ph.D. or a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Strong academic background in Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Video Compression A strong mathematical background in Probability, Linear algebra and Calculus. Hands on experience in innovating and developing at least one DNN-based computer vision algorithm in frameworks such as TensorFlow. Very good programming skills in C, Python and Matlab. Proactive and self-motivated in comprehending the state-of-the-art research and go over and beyond the tasks assigned to you. Publications in top-tier Computer Vision conferences like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV or in top-tier Machine Learning conferences like NIPS, ICLR or ICML is a huge plus.
