Technical Product Owner (CaaS) - Element Platform

To lead HPE into this future, theHPE Element Platform teamis looking for an experienced technical product owner, familiar with Container-as-a-Service offerings, to join our team. As a technicalproduct owner,you will be responsible for driving design and development of key solutions in support of HPE s shift to Everything-as-a-Service with HPE GreenLake. You will have responsibility for providing technical and program leadership, driving architecture direction, and coordinating across multiple engineering, product management and development teams in a global environment. You will be collaborating with CTO and master level architects along with product management teams to drive product strategy and develop user stories and backlog items across various engineering and development teams. Responsibilities include:

• AgileProductOwner role for aaS programs, responsible for driving strategy, direction and product roadmap alignment.
• Technical coordination across multiple agile program teams to align user stories and product development items between Engineering teams

• Coordinate with technical architectsacross the- HPE Element Platform ContainerSolutions Engineering Team, responsible fortranslatingtechnical architecture decisionsinto specific backlog items,collaborating with product management, engineering and development teams
• Assess requirements, design and document complex solution topologies
• Provide domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
• Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into product strategy
• Provide leadership in planning, defining requirements, scoping efforts, and setting appropriate milestones. Coordinating with management and senior management on key decisions and program direction accordingly.

• Potential for hands-on support to drive engineering programs and deliver program content/collateral as needed

Education/Experience/Skills:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

• 10+ years experience in a technical architect, product owner or technical program managerposition
• 5+ years experience withcloud-native infrastructure environments, DevOps pipelines, and associated technologies. Kubernetes is a must.

Critical Skills:

• Experience in a Product Owner role driving technical product direction and strategy

• Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role driving cross-functional program teams
• Strong understanding and experience designing complete solution architectures (infrastructure, OS, K8s, workloads)
• Kubernetes expertise and Kubernetes platforms (CNCF, AKS, EKS, OpenShift, GKE, Anthos, etc.) is a must.
• Strong experience across both Hybrid Cloud and on-premises solution design
• Infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) and automation of cloud-native infrastructure expertise strongly desired

• Demonstrated ability to drive program execution and ensure dates/deadlines are being managed per project scoping
• Experience with Agile Scrum methodology and related tools (e.g. Jira)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.

Desired Skills:

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure (preferably HPE products)
• Hands-on experience with container and container orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, SLURM, Singularity)
• Strong working experience in Linux

• Collaborates well with peers, junior engineers, technicians and external design partners.
