Technical WriterJob DescriptionIn this position as a technical writer, you will be responsible for defining and implementing product documentation strategy for Intel client customer enabling products. You will develop documentation user guides, technical reference manuals, getting started guides, External Design Specifications, Platform Design Guides (PDG). This will include the conversion of content from different formats to support a more dynamic experience for customer to consume content, and help clients enable their custom designs quickly using Intel products. As a technical writer, you will be an integral part of a client product development and release team, and will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SME) engineers and other project stakeholders to develop customer enabling content for both offline and online web use. You will work with SMEs to define gaps in existing content, and develop and implement a plan to execute. You will attend planning and/or coordination meetings to assess customer requirements and define appropriate content solutions. You will be required to generate product documentation from scratch by understanding product workflows, interfacing with SMEs, or from engineering specifications, and determine appropriate format, structure, syntax, and style, as well as adhere to legal guidelines. You will be using latest authoring tools and technologies, such as Adobe FrameMaker, RoboHelp, MadCap Flare, DITA, Word, and other various formats and Content management systems to create, manage, and publish your content. In addition to excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills, this position requires an ability to work with not only the local teams but also remote teams in different time zones Ex: Pacific, Central, Eastern Time in United States and with SMEs and peers who speak English as their first language, and Asia where the primary language is not English but communication are in English.QualificationsYou must possess a Bachelors degree or higher in English, Technical Writing, Technical Communications, or a related field, OR engineering degrees with excellent English skills.3+ years of experience designing, writing, and publishing technical documentation, with at least 1 year of technical documentation in hardware/semiconductor field.2+ years of demonstrable experience on Windows* and one of the other operating systems, like Linux* or Unix OS.2+ years of experience using standard authoring tools and/or technologies.Inside this Business GroupThe Client Computing Group is responsible for all aspects of the client computing business across Phone, Phablet, Tablet and PC platforms, leading Intels efforts to transform client computing through technologies, new form factors, and driving Intels corporate-wide user experience initiatives.
