Test Automation Architect

Job Description

In this context, we are seeking talented and motivated individuals for the role of Test Automation Architect in the RPBWM (Retail, Private Banking & Wealth Management)This role includes the delivery of consulting and strategy services to Agile delivery teams in the RPBWM that are looking to establish better software engineering and quality engineering practices. It requires consulting agile delivery teams performing both manual and automated testing, working directly with senior stakeholders, while providing thought leadership to define and implement testing, test automation & non-functional testing strategies.The roles and responsibilities include:

• Work closely with the various product and engineering teams to evaluate and analyse existing systems and build a roadmap for all aspects of automated testing, test & code coverage
• Review and analyze business and technical requirements to determine testability and design documents for the test approach and plans
• Evangelize the organization s established development standards, policies and procedures in testing, test automation and non-functional testing
• Understands and applies technical system knowledge to organize and create Automated Tests
• Communicate and adapt presentations to a wide range of audiences regarding quality and testing goals, planning process, project initiatives, team innovation and results.
• Emulate strong management and leadership principles with the capacity to engage, motivate, mentor and coach test engineers distributed across various geographical locations.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while effectively solving problems that cross product boundaries
• Actively researches new tools/methods that could prove beneficial in the implementation of Automated Tests
• Implement, gather and report team/project metrics to track business value
• Drive end to end automation with zero manual intervention by applying TDM & Service virtualization and verification mechanisms
• Drive the troubleshooting of Automation issues and provide recommendations on Automation tuning exercises

Approximately 50% of his/her time will be spent in writing code. Rest of the time will be spent on problem analysis, solution design, working with stakeholders, teaching and mentoring.Our Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant.
• Overall 10+ years of experience in IT/Software Development
• Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages but not limited to Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Python, C# or Go
• Strong understanding of test activities including test planning, test case design, and test execution
• Strong skills in test automation frameworks and tools like Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium, Appium, API testing tools, Pact, Junit, TestNG, Mocha, JEST
• Strong expertise automating Desktop, Web and Mobile applications
• Technical proficiency and hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, Backend systems, & Web applications development & testing
• Strong experience in TDD/ATDD/BDD and Agile methodology
• Good skills in Performance/Load Testing, LoadRunner, PerfMon, Gatling Apache JMeter etc.
• Good skills in Test Data Management and Service Virtualization, Mocking & Stubbing tools (Wiremock, Montebank, CA Service Virtualization,Parasoft Virtualize etc).
• Good skills in database based automation
• Good experience in SQL/PLSQL and databases
• Good Understanding of Coding standards, design patterns and guidelines
• Good knowledge in tools like JIRA, Confluence, Git/SVN, Stash, Bitbucket, Jenkins, CircleCI, Maven, Node/NPM, Gradle etc.
• Previous background in a product development is a plus
• Knowledge in Mainframe automation is plus
• Experience automating the validation of modern user interfaces and messaging infrastructures is a plus
• Experience with evaluating and integrating open source and in house developed toolsets is a plus
• Experience with API development & testing using JSON:API Spec & GraphQL is a plus
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, cloud log services, Cloud application monitoring tools (AppDynamics, NewRelic) is a plus
• Good experience with ELK, Grafana and Prometheus is a plus
• Additional technical experience across areas such as security testing, DevOps, and custom tool development is a plus
