Job Description

    • To further develop the automated Lab testing environment for BT Smart Hubs, to support new hardware and firmware developments and verify fixes for InLife issues.
    • To work within the software framework, establish best practise, scope test requirements, develop, verify and ensure successful scripting and implementation of test cases, in order to successfully execute testing and reporting across the enhanced testing environment.
    • To use your practical experience of testing embedded CPE devices / home gateways products - demonstrating automation development experience.
    • To support proactive customer experience improvement initiatives and contribute to system improvements.
    Youll have the following responsibilities
    • Developing the automated Lab Testing environment for BT Smart Hubs, to support new hardware and firmware developments and verify fixes for InLife issues
    • Working within the software framework used in the testing environment
    • Scoping Lab environment requirements, developing test specifications and feature test requirements, and transforming them into automated test cases
    • Using Python scripting / Python class development
    • Using Robot framework
    • Using knowledge of WiFi standards, embedded WiFi devices and CPE WiFi chipsets
    • Scripting test cases for Ixia or Spirent test tools for WiFi testing
    • Verifying all developed test cases (including those developed by others in the team) through code reviews and practical operations
    • Establishing best practise through guidelines, documents and industry standards
    • Using Confluence Wiki and JIRA workflow for tracking Agile development workflow
    Youll have the following skills & experience
    • Hands-on experience of Python scripting or Python class development.
    • Working experience of Robot framework will be an advantage.
    • Practical experience of testing embedded CPE devices / home gateways products - having automation development experience.
    • Developing and contributing to test specifications
    • Understanding of Linux & Dockers is a bonus
    • Good working knowledge of WiFi standards and an understanding of RF Fundamentals
    • Practical experience of testing embedded WiFi devices including a strong understanding of CPE WiFi chipsets.
    • Knowledge of using Ixia or Spirent Test Tools for WiFi Testing will be an advantage
    • Very Good Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols & Broad Networking Skills
    • Good interpersonal, communications & team working skills
    • Good problem solving and logical diagnostic skills
    • Some experience with Confluence Wiki/JIRA for Agile development
    • Hands-on experience of Python scripting or Python class development.
    • Practical experience of testing embedded CPE devices / home gateways products - having automation development experience.
    • Developing and contributing to test specifications
    • Good working knowledge of WiFi standards and an understanding of RF Fundamentals
