We need you to help us do this.Why this role mattersTest Professional is responsible for an area of testing that would be typically defined and would be accountable for all test case creation, diagnostics of defects, and test data strategy for their scope.What youll be doing

• Participate in CFT discussions to understand and review high-level/low-level solution & component design from test perspective.
• Support in analysis of requirements & solution design and prepare test design to ensure optimal test coverage.
• Take responsibility for test strategy for story, project or program testing.
• Support in preparation of test plan based on the test design and analysis.
• May execute testing as per the test plan and report the outcome of test.
• Manage resolution of defects/issues identified in test with support from other relevant teams (components, design, environment, etc.).
• Support in optimising the test plan leveraging Openreach product/domain knowledge and test techniques.
• Contribute to knowledge management activities through development of artefacts.
• Contribute to enhancing the processes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of test function.
• Contribute to transformation activities, intrioduction of new techniques in shift left and look right within QA and test.
• Progress report ensure that all appropriate reports (daily, weekly summary and wiki) are kept updated with progress.
• Exploit the test tools (e.g. HPQC, QTP, etc.) to fully utilize them in delivering effective tests.
• Contribute in development and utilisation of automation in test.
• Liaise with internal, external and third party suppliers where required.
• To personally participate in and contribute to BT wide professional community activities where applicable e.g. knowledge sharing, best practice within BT and external industry.
• To use the relevant BT wide professional community framework to raise their skills and those of their team to the recommended PC standards.

• First level diagnostics, i.e. Diagnose defects against components using techniques and tools defined in the Test Strategy and will pinpoint defects against the correct component in multi-component journeys.
• The role works under the direction of a test manager but will have autonomous control of their responsibilities.
• Responsible for the testing quality via interpretation of the design documentation to establish the design script and for completing the testing in their remit to agreed timescales Develop test data strategy, Data analysis and preparation.
• Fully conversant with test management, diagnostics and have knowledge of automation or another specialism.
• Performs tasks on stable and existing legacy solutions, and undertakes same role on new functionality with more supervision.
• Prepsre test strategy for project or programme assigned.
• Write test specifications and test designs (scripts) and running the test scripts to time cost and quality.
• Deliver the testing requirements for a specific area deriving what needs to be tested.
• Undertake test automation in line with prevailing automation strategy.
• Identify blockers to completion and to progress resolution of them.
• Raising project exceptions re issues and blockers that threaten project timelines.
• Reduce ongoing occurrences of defects in production environments.
• Managing own time to perform tasks within timeframe or before a given deadline.
• Executing test procedures and recording complex test results.
• Will drive implementation of unit test strategy through their area of responsibility.
• Identifying test issues/ defects and recording in testing tool.
• Provide feedback on proposed test activities.
• Performing testing tasks as specified by the Test Lead/ Test Manager.
• Executing test procedures and recording test results unsupervised.
• Conducting peer reviews.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement test evaluation framework.
• To decide the approach to be taken and the nature of the liaison with the development and support teams.
• Lead and support associate level testers in terms of matrix management or coaching.

Qualification :

• Should be BE/BTech/ME/MTech qualified.
• ISTQB foundation or equivalent (for e.g. Bronze ALP Certification in BT).
• Expertise in using HP Quality Centre/ALM.
• Exposure/experience in various test methodologies (e.g. Risk Based Testing).
