Job Description

For more than 350 years and across the world we have passionately pursued our curiosity to find novel and vibrant ways of enhancing the lives of others.Your RoleIn the role of Text Analytics Solutions Architect, you will be responsible to design and architect our ecosystem of text analytics tools and technologies, which forms the basis for business use cases all across our company. Working together with data scientists and technical architects you will enable self-serve usage by developing best practices and appropriate training materials in line with our security and compliance standards. You will evaluate new and promising technologies (e.g., technologies offering weak supervision, active learning, graph engines) and modernize the ecosystem. In the context of projects, you will provide design recommendations to data scientists and data engineers, including interfaces to data sources, data ingestion, data staging, data preparation, machine learning model training, deployment, and monitoring. You will be a role model for good development, operating, and testing practices including code reviews, code coherence, collaborative development, and scalable and maintainable data pipelines/models.Your Profile

  • You have a higher-education degree (Masters) in computer science, information technology, information science, or comparable technical fields
  • Good understanding of technologies and methodologies used in the field of text analytics and natural language processing (NLP). Technological experience would include a good understanding of deep learning architectures especially Transformers (Hugging Face library) and commonly used open-source Python libraries such as SKLearn, Gensim, SpaCy, Keras, Pytorch and so-forth
  • Experience designing (preferably developing) search applications using indexing and search engines such as Elasticsearch or Solr. Knowledge of graph databases is a plus
  • Experience designing (preferably developing) applications leveraging machine learning & deep learning applied to text data followed by deployment and monitoring. Ideally, such applications would cover data flows (ETL) and model serving on a continuous basis
  • Working knowledge of agile software development, version control (git), automated testing, continuous integration/deployment
  • Strong experience and potentially relevant certifications with services of major cloud platforms (ideally AWS/Azure)
  • Working knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus
  • Experience with large-scale distributed computing architectures mainly Apache Spark is a plus
  • Preferably, you have prior work experience in a GxP regulated environment or other regulated industries (e.g., Healthcare)
  • Experienced working in a global matrix environment, lateral leadership and positively influencing senior stakeholders
