  • Applying knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff System, General Rules of Interpretation of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule including chapter notes, WCO explanatory notes, and government binding rulings.
  • Determining Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification for the applicable jurisdiction for finished goods, equipment, raw materials and non-production items; with strong focus on chapters 85 90.
  • Determining Export control classification for finished goods, semi-finished goods, equipment, tools, raw materials, technology and software as well as non-production items per EUUS, India and China regulatory.
  • Applying knowledge of regulatory, judicial, international and/or local customs and export control decisions/views to products being classified.
  • Building knowledge of Semiconductor industry, sufficient to understand technical characteristics, and to engage with Engineering and Program Managers in regard to classification.
