As part of the Platform & Agile CoE, youll be responsible for driving the global strategy for Platform & Agile with both global and local business and technology teams.The Morgan Stanley Labs Team is responsible for the automation, availability, capacity planning change management, efficiency, monitoring, performance, and support of Morgan Stanley Labs. Labs includes a significant on-premises data center in New York City, as well as large footprint in public cloud, known as the Global Innovation Lab. The Labs team governs thousands of assets of a wide variety such as desktops, servers, and network appliances etc., used by almost every group within Technology. The team performs rapid, safe, evaluation of technology, and is responsible for the strategy, standards, and operations of Morgan Stanleys technology labs globally. This provides critical services for all phases of the technology lifecycle, from initial research through production issue post-mortems, and investigations. We are looking for an experienced, professional software engineer to join our growing team in Bangalore. While broad range of technical skills is critical, successful candidates will lead the continuance development of automation, support, and self-service of Labs, primarily coding in Python, Perl, and JavaScript in Linux-based environments. Typical tasks for a Labs Software Engineer include: Design, development, and integration of both new and existing inventory management tools across multiple platforms (Python and Perl on Linux and Windows). Design, and development of automation, and self-service tooling, aimed at increasing overall team and lab efficiency (Python and Perl on Linux). Design, and development of new lab services, including support of ongoing development of the Global Innovation Lab in the public cloud (Python and ReactJS on Linux)., *Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Technology related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Five or more years of relevant experience working in Financial Services or Enterprise Technology firms. Experience of driving enterprise level initiatives working with senior stakeholders across various regions and cultures. Excellent communication skills paired with strong self-management capabilities. Skills: Creating efficient, impactful software and tools to meet the requirements of the team, and other stakeholders. Being able to use JIRA effectively, including writing clear, concise JIRA stories aligned with Agile principals. Ability to code in Shell script, Python, Perl, and JavaScript (ReactJS/AngularJS), with flexibility to develop skills in additional languages or frameworks as necessary. Ability to develop thorough, and reliable, tests in Python (unittest) and JavaScript (jest/enzyme). Extensive knowledge of secure coding standards. Including auditing, and correcting, deficiencies in existing code as necessary. Functional knowledge of cloud foundations in Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Functional knowledge of developing software on both Linux and Windows environments. Functional knowledge of CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins/AWS tools/Azure DevOps). General knowledge of Linux and Windows, file system administration.
