Job Description

    *The incumbent candidate will be part of the Energy Management business unit CTO-India office, and belong to the Global Materials group consisting of polymer & metals experts. The polymer expert is expected to contribute towards innovation in developing new materials, identifying emerging technologies and applying them across Schneider Electric products. Understanding of electrical products such as circuit breakers, switches would be helpful. The polymer expert would be interacting with businesses to understand their application need and suggest a suitable grade of plastic. If no commercial grade exists then is expected to collaborate with supplier to develop a material for SE.The individual will also be required to work closely with procurement, regulatory, quality and other functions to solve material requirements and provide improvement in quality. Good understanding and experience in assessing sustainability, recyclability, circularity of materials is a plus. Understanding of current plastic recycling technologies and future roadmaps is essential.The job may require the candidate to travel to manufacturing plant to solve a technical material related problem, or travel to supplier to help in audit of new supplier.Good communication skills, ability to collaborate, work with cross-functional teams and understanding business priorities is a must.The polymer expert is expected to provide innovative outside the box solutions and act as a go-to person for all plastics related problems., *Qualification
    1. Masters in material science / plastic engineering / polymer science
    2. Minimum 5 -7 years experience in the area of polymer technology, polymer composites, thermomechanical properties, electrical properties
    3. Minimum 3-5 years experience is required in formulating, processing & testing of epoxy & other thermoset materials. Experience in material electrical property testing such as dielectric, surface resistivity etc.is a plus.
    4. Ability to perform failure analysis and root cause analysis (RCA) & suggest design / material change to improve quality & productivity
    5. Hands-on experience in testing polymers by DSC, MFI, FTIR, UTM, SEM & interpretation of results.
    6. Hands-on experience in additive manufacturing, 3D printing for prototype or actual product is a plus.
    7. Perform design of experiments & follow agile methodology to deliver results.
    8. DFSS green belt is a plus
