About the function and the role: We are looking for superlative hustlers, stellar problem solvers and remarkable team players. Everything else is a plus plus. As a financial services company with lending as one of the key offerings to our customers, we would like to strengthen our Risk Analytics function. The core objective of the Risk Analytics function is to give early warning signals (EWS) to the Collections team for any customer with higher risk of default and to act as a feedback loop for improving the Underwriting model. An ideal candidate would be someone who would make the Risk in our lending portfolio the center of their universe, who would push himself/ herself and the team members around to leverage analytics to proactively mitigate any risk building in our lending portfolio. This role is an exciting mix of:Individual contributor - Strategize use data science tools & techniques along with internal and external datasets to strengthen our risk alert systemTeam player - Work with various teams such as Data Science, Underwriting, Key Account Management, Collections etc. to align and implement above strategiesTeam leader - Lead a small team to drive timely action on risk alerts triggered for any customer with the help of Collections, Key Account Management (KAM) teams Key responsibilities : - Manage use of data science tools and techniques for risk management with the help of Data Science team - To evaluate effectiveness of existing risk indicators (early warning signals) as predictors of stress in our lending portfolio- To analyze variety of historical financial and business data available for our customers and propose newer risk indicators- To assign dynamic risk category and risk score to customers basis various data points - Identify and evaluate new external data sets and risk indicators provided by third party vendors to further strengthen our risk management- Define SOPs for action on early warning system (EWS) alerts for various risk categories of the customer in consultation with Collections and KAM teams- Lead a task force to operationalize actions as per above SOP to mitigate risk- Define measurable metrics and targets thereof to measure success of the Risk Management function and track the same- Track and evaluate performance of individual team members and provide appropriate guidance and mentoring Qualifications : - Must have 3-5 years of experience with 2+ years of experience in Managing teams in cutting edge analytics in Banking/ Insurance/ Financial Services/ Fintech/ e-commerce - MBA from a premium B-school would be a plus.- Experience in retail customer risk analytics would be a plus- Must be an analytical thinker with a problem solving mindset along with high regards for process development and improvement - Must be adept at implementing strategies with good experience in task planning, delegation and tracking- Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience interacting with stakeholders at multiple levels Velocity culture : It doesnt matter what your last name is or what you scored in English in class 5, but if you have a knack for problem solving, crave difficult problems, are analytical, can work in teams, we would love to talk to you.
