In this role you will be reporting to R&D Department Lead and will be responsible for leading a team of research and development (R&D) employees and supporting the team in reaching agreed R&D targets. Coaching team members and developing the team. Helps managing technologies, platforms and intellectual property.Your responsibilities

  • Managing a group of 20 Engineers plus a variable number of external contract engineers and interns. Guiding, coaching and mentoring engineers on career, competence and soft skills
  • Structuring and leading activities in the context of the scaled agile framework (SAFe). Promoting a culture of continuous improvements always striving for quality and efficiency
  • Responsible for recruiting of resources and staffing projects with competent people, making sure that the workload of the overall team fits the assigned projects
  • Driving resource and competence management globally within the software area and fostering a climate of innovation by motivating, guiding and empowering team members
  • Ensuring effective exchange of knowledge to promote collaboration and developing new technological approaches and solutions. Safeguarding quality assurance of all deliverables from the development team
  • Ensuring timely and on-budget execution of projects and work packages monitoring progress and taking corrective actions if necessary. Ensuring that the right product development processes and tools are adopted. proposing and executing improvement processes within the team
  • Ensuring and fostering own organization and employees to gain the ability to challenge the status quo in technical issues, projects and processes and translates this into dedicated actions
  • Collaborating with the local business management on customer requirement, customer challenges, local market business potential and strategically proposing, planning and executing for improving the customer satisfaction and business volumes
Your background
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering / Technology with 14-16 years of experience in embedded software development, project management and people management
  • Technical background in C, C++, embedded platforms
  • Strong background in research and development practices and processes
  • Experienced in international and cross-cultural collaboration and leadership
  • Project management skills, with proficiency in leading development teams or development labs
  • Strong team-leader with skills in team development and a focus on results and accountability
  • Knowledge and experience in PLCs, industrial automation solution or system business, converters, motors, electrical machines domain is an added advantage
