Job Description

We are well positioned as the AI Computing Company, and our GPUs are the brains powering Deep Learning software frameworks, accelerated analytics, big data, modern data centers, and driving autonomous vehicles.We are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to support NVIDIAs manufacturing operations and supply chain functions. As part of NVIDIAs Finance organization, the overarching responsibilities will be to build and deepen teamwork between Operations and Finance teams to strategically analyze product costs and inventory to provide insights and actionable information for business decisions. This is a role for an energetic and self-driven individual who thrives in a multifaceted and fast-paced environment and who has excellent critical thinking skills.What youll be doing:

  • Review bill of materials (BOM) and production routing data to ensure cost accuracy for inventory valuation.
  • Oversee the evaluation and management of obsolete and excess inventory and support the inventory reserve and reserve release process.
  • Prepare journal entries related to production costs, inventory valuations, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Perform accurate, timely and efficient account reconciliations and detailed COGS analysis each month-end / quarter-end close, including detailed fluctuation analysis. Forecast and analyze OSAT manufacturing spending; obsolete or excess inventory.
  • Partner across Operations, Engineering and/or Business Units to analyze financial performance from the perspective of product costs, inventory, and supply management.
  • Continuously identify and drive process improvements and automation for better efficiency in reporting and analyzing financial information.
  • Work with IT teams to ensure cost accounting systems are accurate and up to date and reporting is robust to allow for ad hoc analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and external audit requirements regarding inventory and cost of goods sold.
  • Complete ad hoc inventory valuations analyses.
What we need to see:
  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience), CPA/CMA or advanced degree in related fields a plus.
  • 5 years experience in Accounting and Finance within a global hardware technology company, with focus in manufacturing operations and/or business units.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, and operational flows.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel. Experience with SAP, Power BI, Tableau, or other finance applications or visualization tools.
  • Detailed oriented with the highest regard for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and in teams to identify and tackle problems enthusiastically and clearly identify key issues of importance for team resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills in big data and processes.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
