The Powertrain Module area in Aerodynamic & Mechanical consists of highly skilled employees situated in locations around the world. The department is accountable for the Powertrain System converting the mechanical energy from the wind into electrical energy. The Powertrain System consists of main components such as the main gearbox, generator, main shaft bearings, lubrication system, and auxiliary components such as brake, coupling, and suspension/damper system. In the Powertrain Quality Sub Module, we support Warranty cases of Bearing, gearbox, torque arm, coupling, shrink disc, and Generator components. This team also has the responsibility of reducing lost production factor ( LPF) related to Alarm, Warranty, Design failures of PTR Components, ensure Closed Loop QualityResponsibilities
• Ensuring the technical deliverable of our CIM ( Warranty) projects, and LPF cases
• Collaboration with the project manager and technical experts ( Functional Leads) in moving the daily task on identified Root causes & work on design improvement solutions, coordination with adjacent components for sign-off
• Work on closed-loop quality & lessons learned together with the development team
• Coordinate the technical solution within the quality, time, and cost targets of the project
• Prioritize the technical teams tasks based on the calculated impact to project targets
• Identify and mitigate technical risks within the CIM (Warranty) project scope and secure technical administration to get the needed progress in the projects
• Supervise and align project issues with stakeholders
• Provide feedback and question solutions to optimize product design
• Participate in design reviews, and direct root cause and failure cases
Qualifications
• Bachelors / Masters in Mechanical / Similar engineering
• 7 to 10 years of experience in design preferrably in Mechanical Gearbox Design
• Gearbox Product development experience
• Specific work experience within the wind industry is beneficial
• Effective verbal and written communication with English as the primary working language
• Must have experience & exposure to Gearbox teardown inspection
Competencies
• MASTA Simulation - interpret the load distribution, behavior of Gearbox & WTG loads
• Failure mode calculation esp / TFF calculation / bearing failures
• Knowledge of Gearbox Development stages
• Knowledge of Bearing failures
• Production - Gearbox Knowledge
• Understand Noise Simulation
• Data Analyst of vibration patterns
• Understand WTG loads & operational conditions
