Assistant Lead Engineer IN, Chennai | Professional | Full-Time | ID: 13591Power Solutions - Aerodynamic & Mechanical - Tower Module Value EngineeringDescribe the DepartmentTower Engineering module is responsible for providing optimized tower solution to Vestas tower program. The tasks range from understanding the design requirement and requirement specification, designing tower using analytical and FEM calculations, designing tower components, performing DFMEA, test planning and execution to risk assessments and compilation of certification documentation.Tower value engineering department is extension of global tower module. The department is responsible for provide customized tower solution for sales order, design modification for local market and to provide innovative design solution for life extension of old turbine tower along with fulfilling certification need.Focus is on securing sound, cost-optimized and production friendly solutions and at the same time fulfilling the overall requirements to safety and functionality for the products. Additionally, process efficiency and coordinate time reduction is of key importance in order to fulfill Vestass overall aspirations of delivering products, which are configured to customer needs in a timely manner.The team is in Chennai, India.ResponsibilitiesGather and understand project requirementPrioritize the technical teams tasks based on the calculated impact to project targetsIdentify and mitigate technical risks within the project scopeSecure technical administrating to secure progress in the projects and coordinate technical reviewsSupervise and align project issues with stakeholdersDeliver tower structural calculations/ FEA and assist in developing/optimize designs and processesDeliver the technical solution within quality, time and cost targets of the projectProvide feedback and task design solutions to interfacing systems in order to optimize product designQualificationsBachelor or Masters degree in , Mechanical or Civil Engineering (structural)Minimum Professional experience: 6-8 yearsExperience in the design of turbine or e.g. diligently loaded structuresTechnical leadership & Project management skills (technical project management)CompetenciesSolid fundamental and innovative mindset (research paper, patents etcTechnical leadership and understanding the business and full value chainExposure to technical project managementExperience in solving field issue and providing solution in vibration and structural issuesProficient in linear, nonlinear, fatigue, contact, vibration analysis using FEAKnowledge on Bolted and Welded Connections, Fatigue analysis, Fracture Mechanics, Buckling AnalysisHave good communication skills to convey complex problems to a wide range of stakeholdersHave good problem-solving skills and be able to supervise sub-projects and be able to meet deadlinesBe process oriented and have a structured way to workWhat We OfferWe offer a challenging workplace with solid professional and personal development opportunities in an inspiring, international work environment with a well-known wind turbine manufacturerWe value initiative, responsibility and the right balance between creativity and quality in all solutions.
