Job Description

  • Assistant Manager will be responsible but not limited to work on Equiniti Global accounting policies and procedures, Quality results on Month end, Accurate recording of transactions in line with IFRS rules of Group reporting,
  • Should be proactive in coordinating and issue management with Onshore stake holders, should be a person striving for Continuous improvement on processes, should lead the RTR team as an example and will be a part of the energetic team within the Financial Shared Services.

Business Function

  • The UK US team provide Business Partnering, Tax, Compliance and Treasury support to the Group.
  • The SSC will support them by providing Purchase to Pay (PTP), Order to Cash (OTC), Record to Report (RTR) and Data Management (DM) transactional tasks. The team will also work closely with other support functions (eg HR) to provide a One Stop shop to Equiniti.
  • The Finance Shared Service Centre in Chennai will provide financial support to Equiniti s finance team based in the UK and US.
  • Finance Shared Services has extended its Global footprint to support geographies beyond UK, further expand the remit in operating areas , sustain and improve the control environment for the group , successfully drive value add and Continuous improvement , move up the value chain by providing quality services in niche areas of Statutory Reporting , Procurement and support to Group Internal Audit.
  • All of this made possible by 80 plus dedicated, articulate and forward thinking colleagues of FSSC who also played a pivotal role in our Global Finance Transformation journey with the successful implementation of Workday as the Global Finance /Procurement and Human Capital Management ERP in April 2020 , thus bringing in all our operating locations under one Finance umbrella.
  • By putting the above activity in one place, with staff focussed on quality and process improvements, we can ensure that Equiniti is well placed for the expected growth over the coming years.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties

Delivery

  • Deliver finance operations activities in line with Equiniti Global Standards with applicable corporate policies and procedures
  • Expected to deliver the quality result in the fast-changing business environment
  • Timely delivery of relevant management reports and /or services to ensure accurate recording of all business transactions in the ERP system according to the IFRS rules for group reporting and local GAAP rules for statutory reporting (local ERP only)
  • Coordinate and Issue management of MEC Activities (Journals, Inter-Company, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Accounting, Asset Management, MEC Activities, and Group Reporting teams collaborate effectively with Finance Operations Team
  • Onshore Stakeholder management with GPMO, Liaison Lead.

Control

  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency in relevant processes
  • Collaborate with Finance Operations to ensure data quality and output are reliable and meet defined performance KPIs
  • Preparation of internal and external audit information

Innovative

  • Support Continuous improvements in the process, in line with Workday Functionality.
  • Support best practices, knowledge, and implementation of them to improve processes/services

People

  • Career Manage the team members for their growth and development
  • Proactive attrition management, talent retention development
  • Act as Subject matter expert and support contact point for a given geographical area in relation to One of the A2R Core processes.
  • To Coordinate and own one-off Core Journals, Inter-Company, Balance Sheet Reconciliation (Blackline), Bank Accounting, Asset Management, MEC Activities, and Group Reporting teams collaborate effectively with Finance Operations Team.

Skills attributes and Behaviour

The successful candidate should demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in a multinational environment
  • CA / Cost Accountant inter qualified or CA/Cost accountant fully qualified
  • Concern for high standards and data accuracy and service mindset
  • Ability to communicate financial information to a finance audience
  • Proficient knowledge of handling end-to-end R2R activities for a large multinational company.
  • Sound in economics, finance, or accounting background
  • Experience with ERP systems. Workday proficiency required
  • Should have sound accounting skills in reconciliations and accounting treatment.
  • Should have managed stakeholders in a multi-country setup.
  • Ability to effectively work in a cross-functional matrix organization
  • Work in a shared service finance centre may be beneficial.
