Job Description

Assistant Manager joining the team should be valuable in facilitating Corporate Action event information from Custodian to Investment Manager/Client and facilitate client elections. Also we do record keeping activities to mitigate the risk that impacts fund valuation on back of a Corporate action event. Need to understand the risks and able to place controls if required in accordance to changing situations.ResponsibilitiesDirect Responsibilities

  • Oversee the processing of Corporate Action event / Income events in order to anticipate any reporting or processing issues.
  • Reverting to relevant internal / external custodians to clarify/solve any open issue.
  • Checking that all eligible positions are instructed before response deadline.
  • Facilitating complex events and critical instructions with all necessary requirements and coordinate the same with custodian.
  • Ensure that respective cutoff times within various applications and activities within the team are adhered.
  • Investigate root cause for aged breaks and escalate appropriately to relevant stakeholders for clearance of reconciliation breaks on a daily basis
  • Monitor High value Cash and Stock breaks and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Should oversee all the EOD / BOD activities completion.
  • Should work towards achieving the agreed KPI for the team
  • Answering queries via email, Telephone, query management application.
  • Should ensure no emails, instructions are left pending without action.
  • Ensure completion of relevant checklist to ensure all the task are effectively performed.
  • Consistently evaluate and update documented procedures to ensure they are complete, accurate and current.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as may be required from time-to time
  • Perform daily controls on team activity as per existing check lists to ensure priorities have been respected and tasks have been correctly performed.
  • Take Ownership of any incident or operational risk and implement solid action plans.
  • Manage risk and priorities applying the existing procedures
  • Participate in regular conference calls with European and Asian stakeholders.
  • Establishing communication links with Clients to discuss daily operational & performance issues.
  • To assist in providing the figures for the monthly KPI
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
  • Strong knowledge in handling corporate actions and income related events for various instrument types
  • Accounting knowledge and knowledge on Swift messages, NAV is an added advantage
  • Zeal to learn new things
  • Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel will be useful
  • Must be prepared to work in flexible timings
  • Good communication skills
