Commercial IT - The Information Management (IM) Data Factory team within AZ deliver against demand from global commercial markets and other CFIT organizations for access, integration, important metric development and reporting against information in the Commercial IM platform among other initiatives.The Information Management (IM) Data Factory team member will be involved in the delivery of design, perform data modelling, development and implementation of new data sources, ETL processes and reports related to the Global Astra Zeneca Commercial Information Management Platform. The role will work proactively with recommendations on enhancements and provide ongoing maintenance to deployed applications.We are looking for a highly hardworking Data Modeler to join our team. The professional in this role will need to have a solid experience in transporting business needs into logical, conceptual and physical data models.The role will be based in the GTC.Typical AccountabilitiesParticipate in activities including support of project and BAU application development, including efforts to plan, create and doing design work to empower applications.Maintains team accomplishments by communicating essential information; coordinating actions; obtaining expert input; reviewing open issues and action items; contributing information to team meetings and reports; transferring knowledge of data models to application and support teams.Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models.Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.Create reverse engineered, logical and physical data models using standard methodologies to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.Develop standard methodologies for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness.Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions.Develop data models according to company standards.Guide System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers and others on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance.Examine new application design and recommend corrections if required.Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to make valuable contributions to job accomplishments.Supports Capability teams by pick-up demands and deliver solutions.Maintains awareness and knowledge of industry trends and proactively finds opportunities to drive innovation across the Information Management platform and capabilityEducation, Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceEssentialDegree level education in computer science, Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or similarAt least 3-5 years of experience and expertise with modeling tools such as high demand for knowledge around data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives and working at least 3 years in a large, ideally global organisation(s)Knowledge and experience of using a variety of different tools/techniques for data modelling purposes (e.g. Erwin, Embarcadero)SQL skillsProven working experience in Redshift with Data modeling experienceAbility to interpret and communicate technical information into business languageDemonstrated skills in multi-disciplinary, multi-tenant global programs/projectsExperience of effective working in a multi-cultural teamPlanning experience with globally working teams including all phases of the application lifecycle.Demonstrable experience working with 3rd party vendors & partners.Experience in translating complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design.DesirableWorking experience in pharmaceutical industryGood commercial awareness and understanding of the external marketExperience in continuous integration and Deployment methods delivered as part of an agile teamWorked in agile environment and should have good understanding of agile methodology.Understanding of BI standard methodologiesDemonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural workingA self-starter with high levels of drive, energy, resilience and a desire for professional excellence.Good interpersonal skills, highly collaborative and passion for customers.Problem solver with having demonstrated the ability to think out of the box .,
