  • The role is responsible for delivery of IFRS Reporting packs to the Group by maintaining highest standards of quality, reliability, accuracy within the agreed timelines. The position will oversee technical accounting research related to new and proposed accounting standards. He/She also supports and assists with the implementation, maintenance and review of internal controls and corporate policies and procedures.
  • The incumbent is also expected to proactively drive improvement initiatives to continuously enhance the global process, whilst maintaining the highest levels of governance and controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain Financial reporting integrity and review all data included in the financial reports for accuracy and completenessPrepare/maintain supporting documentation for financial statements and related footnotes and maintain standard list of accounting and reporting reviews for pre- quarter closeMaintain list of business and accounting events prior to balance sheet date for support during business review of IFRS schedulesConduct reviews on critical processes such as head office expenses, cross-border recharges, hedge accounting, derivatives and related processes.Perform trial balance and general ledger reviews to confirm appropriate accounting and statement in books based on the above listsEngage with Data Quality and Assurance team for data reviews and confirmation on posting journals for appropriate rectification and adjustments to ledger dataEngage with IFRS reporting team to ensure that reporting actions based on past-quarters group queries have been completed and do not recurPerform quarterly analysis of movements in balances, variance and identify business reasonsWorking closely with stakeholders across Country finance, Business finance and Group Finance teams and manage expectations.Complying with all governance requirements Process metrics review, Service review calls, BCP.Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide timely information and supportBuilding a strong functional and business knowledge in the teams.Engage and collaborate with Country and Group teams for process, knowledge and change managementContribute effectively as GBS and GFS Extended Leadership Team for any initiatives as necessaryQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Qualified Accountant is a must CA , CPA or CIMA (UK)3 5 years post qualification relevant work experience in a Financial Reporting role preferably in a Financial services industry with specific experience in performing analytical reviews of legal entity/statutory reporting (schedules and data) with business in focusSkills Functional Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards and practicesWorking experience in different financial and accounting systemsExperience of working in a global financial services organisation in a matrixed environment.Skills- BehaviouralExcellent attention to detailStrong analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent network building and strong interpersonal skills to work with people from diverse culture and background.Demonstrates intellectual curiosity of how people, process and systems can perform betterDemonstrates integrity and professionalism, with the intent to do the right thing at all timesAbility to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks.Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines, create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to management requests.Proven ability to perform under pressure and stress and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.Key RelationshipsData Quality & ValidationCentral Intercompany TeamExternal Reporting TeamCentral AccountingHead, Financial Reporting (country)Global Process ManagerKEY MEASURESTimely submission of quality IFRS packs with nil adjustments and reclassificationsFaster-close timelines metAll group queries built in reporting and review processes so that they do not recurReduction /Elimination of manual and late adjustmentsProcess accuracy maintained at 100% at zero tolerance levelsNil audit points.,
