Associate Software Engineer - InfotainmentLocation Brno - FBCIPosting date 6 hours ago(5/17/2021 7:33 AM)Job ID 84892 Category Software Engineering Job summary We are looking for someone who wants to get into open source development around infotainment systems and automotive. The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will initially help with bootstrapping the infotainment system, ensuring that we get things like Wayland, PipeWire, Vulkan, Qt, and GStreamer integrated with the Yocto build system. Over time, you will transition more into focusing on evolving these core technology packages and supporting Red Hat partners who are deploying our infotainment stack in their cars. We are looking for someone interested in this field and wants to learn new things. Primary job responsibilities

  • Work with team members to bootstrap the infotainment stack with Yocto
  • Work on getting infotainment stack connected to continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) systems
  • Help maintain packages needed for infotainment
  • Help test and prototype various infotainment related software
Required skills
  • Basic programming skills in Python
  • Basic understanding of Linux operating system
  • Basic understanding of open source development culture and practices
The following are considered a plus:
  • Prior open source software contributions
  • Experience with C, C++, or Rust
  • Previous experience with Yocto and BitBake
  • Some fluency in German
