1. Responsible for scheduling and allocation of deliverables 2. Manage a team of in-house and freelance editors 3. Clarify doubts raised by co-editors 4. Analyse manuscript files for edit level requirement and issues to be checked and prepare an analysis report 5. Coordinate with project managers, team leaders, pre-editors, co-editors, compositors, and freelancers to maintain a smooth workflow 6. Escalate issues relating to copyediting to the management as and when required to ensure timely dispatch of error-free deliverables. 7. Edit HSS/ STM books to ensure correctness for grammar, spelling, errors in punctuation, and other discrepancies 8. Ensure adherence to the publishers house style 9. Check if illustrations and captions are correct and raise appropriate queries in case of discrepancies. 10. Check repetitions and redundancies and fix or query issues as appropriate. For all of these tasks, the copyeditor should be familiar with major style guides, dictionaries, and general reference works, and know when to use them 11. Review files edited by junior editors and freelancers and provide constructive feedback. Required Qualification: 1. 6 to 8 years of experience in editing academic books (humanities, linguistics, philosophy, theology, STM). Hands-on experience in reviewing books edited by other editors and freelancers will be an added advantage. 2. Preferably from the e-publishing industry 3. Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style and the Oxford Style Manual 4. He/ she must possess a good command over the English language. 5. Ability to handle extensive editing when required. This could include clarifying confusing sentences by suggesting appropriate rewrites or by raising suitable queries. 6. Excellent written and oral communication skills 7. A meticulous approach to work and an eye for detail 8. The ability to maintain high-quality work while strictly adhering to deadlines 9. Careful attention to detail/ strong proofreading skills 10. Ability to recognize and correct style errors, as well as to rewrite and reframe content to improve clarity and readability 11. Ability to lead a tea,
