Job Description

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET-2) at Racanaa, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, correctness, and performance of cloud-native, backend driven platforms. Your role involves owning test automation for services, understanding system behaviors in AWS and Docker-based environments, and collaborating closely with development and DevOps teams to prevent defects through early testing.**Key Responsibilities:**- **Automation & Framework Ownership:** - Design, develop, and maintain automation test suites for backend services and APIs. - Extend and improve existing automation frameworks for scalability and reliability. - Convert manual scenarios into stable automated tests. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.- **Backend, API & Data Testing:** - Perform white-box and black-box testing for microservices and backend workflows. - Validate REST APIs, request/response contracts, and error handling. - Verify data correctness and transformations across databases, files, and services. - Design and execute integration tests across dependent services.- **Cloud & Container-Based Testing (AWS & Docker):** - Validate application behavior in AWS environments. - Test deployments of Dockerized services and analyze logs using AWS CloudWatch. - Assist in debugging infrastructure, configuration, or networking issues.- **Performance & Non-Functional Testing:** - Design and execute performance, load, and stress tests using tools like JMeter. - Analyze test results to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability risks. - Validate system behavior under failure and recovery scenarios.- **Collaboration, Debugging & Quality Ownership:** - Review designs with developers to improve testability. - Participate in sprint planning, test strategy discussions, and retrospectives. - Mentor junior engineers in automation, debugging, and cloud testing.**Qualifications Required:**- **Experience:** 46 years in software testing and test automation, startup experience preferred.- **Core Technical Skills:** Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Python, understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, JSON, Linux/Unix skills, RDBMS, and SQL queries.- **Cloud & Containerization (Mandatory):** Knowledge of AWS services, Docker, and containerization.- **Automation & Testing Expertise:** Experience with xUnit frameworks, API automation frameworks, white box testing, integration testing, and performance testing tools.- **Tools & Process:** Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD tools.**About Racanaa:**Racanaas platforms consist of distributed backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and integrations deployed on AWS and packaged as Docker containers.
