This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.PURPOSE:This Role will be responsible for all the group initiatives in Wealth Management Operations and will support for setting up standardised operational processes, documentation of Global Departmental Operating Instructions (GDOI), establishment of the Target Operating Model, rollout of software platforms across hub and spoke, improve Hubbing ratio and improving the compliance and control environment in operations by way of improving adherence to controls and knowledge of staff over risks, controls and compliance requirements. The responsibility will also include leading and participation in Group run programs, PgSCs, PWGs etc.RESPONSIBILITIES1. Overall Responsibilities :Responsible for improving the WMO process and controls managed out of Countries and GBS locationsTo have proper engagement with all internal & external stakeholders. Represent WM in various group forums, e.g. PgSCs, PWGs, etc. through designated SPOCs/Self on Service Calls.Review of the PPGs & CAs from Operations perspective.Work with the Country Operations & GBS locations for Standardising processes and controls.Support the Operations Teams in terms of managing the operations effectively including volume, staff, risk management etc.Assist in setting up a culture of compliance adherence especially with respect to country specific regulatory requirements and mechanism to measure consistent adherence to regulatory standards and guidelines.Assist in enhancing the risk management capabilities by partnering with Product Risk & Control on Operational Risk Agenda as well as ensuring an effective Peer Review program.Assist in review of operational losses, risk issues and appropriate corrective actions.Assist in providing guidance to countries on internal audit and responding to the queries arising from the audit.2. Business Support relevant stakeholders to make decisions based on current and possible future policies, practices, and industry trends.Keep track of and provide advice to relevant stakeholders on the interpretation and application of regulatory expectations, laws, best practices and policies related to wealth managementTo facilitate launch of new products / process at the countries / hub.To Migrate processes from high cost locations to the GBS hub.3. People and TalentPromote and embed a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm. Stimulate an environment where forward planning, prioritisation, deadline management and streamlined workflows and collaborative, inclusive yet effective and efficient work practices are the norm.Assist in ensuring Operations Units are adequately resourced and staffed by an appropriate number of competent staff sufficiently independent to perform duties objectively.4. Risk ManagementUnderstand technical aspects of systems relevant to Wealth Management, Process Risk Assessments and Process Management.Align/support with the alignment of relevant systems and controls to industry best practice and close out any risk / compliance gaps.Apply Group Wealth management policies and processes to manage & mitigate risks.Assist in improvisation and/or implementation of the risk management frameworks (e.g. ORF) including methodology, governance / process, analysis and action planning.5. GovernanceProvide and support oversight of Products / Process / Technology / Automation initiativesIn the event of serious regulatory breaches, or where risk tolerances have been breached, ensure senior management are informed and that actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased.Review lessons learnt from audit findings, Risk reviews, Past Errors & specific reviews.Propose control improvements, enhancements and simplifications where appropriate.Assist in identification and escalation of potential risks and issues to senior management through appropriate governance channels.Define metrics and/or key risk indicators (KRI) for operations processes.6. Regulatory & Business conduct Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.Support the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Operation of Financial Markets; Financial Crime Prevention; The Right Environment.Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.Support relevant stakeholders to respond to regulatory questions.7.
