Job Description

*Job Title: AVP - SyntheticsLocation: Chennai

  • Own and be the accountable executive for the Equities and Prime middle office processes.
  • Be responsible and accountable for business delivery as per the standards agreed with business.
  • Strong process and product knowledge to manage business delivery and control environment
  • Ensure the right people are hired in the team for business delivery.
  • Manage key performance and risk indicators and establish a governance model.
  • Drive strategic delivery including various change initiatives and projects.
  • Drive efficiency creation and move up the value chain.
  • Ensure relevant cross-training and knowledge sharing to build in-depth knowledge across the functions
  • Collaborate efficiently with wider teams to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Build and manage stakeholder relationships with business.
  • Perform appraisals for colleagues, providing guidance and career support
What will you be doing
  • The candidate is required to provide expert supervision with ownership and accountability.
  • The candidate is required to have an excellent understanding of the Cash Equities, Equity Derivatives and Synthetics from a regional perspective and realise how issues and change impact the global framework.
  • The role will also require regular close contact with various Operations teams, business managers, Front office, as well as our client base.
  • The candidate will be required to provide supervision to processes across time zones.
  • The role will require an individual who can cope with the demanding environment of an investment bank, moving between different areas of the trade flow, while providing solutions and assistance across the teams.
  • The role is suitable for candidates with excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to set out and explain complex issues and problems, while using their experience and knowledge to influence key stakeholders.
What we re looking for:
  • Degree level or appropriate industry qualifications with significant and relevant experience within a similar / comparable banking environment
  • People management expertise.
  • Thorough knowledge of markets / exchanges, reconciliations, product nuances of equities products
  • Subject Matter Expert of the front to back process in an environment of investment banking
  • Understand operational risks and possessing the ability to make informed decisions
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Knowledge and experience of using SQL, ETL, SAP Business Objects and Tableau to design, update and maintain robust reports and associated processes
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of regular reports and have the ability to support internal and external customers in all MI reporting requirements
  • Participate in identifying opportunities to drive process improvements, making recommendations to implement and deliver efficiencies within the team
  • Highly numerate with analytical problem solving ability and the ability to perform deep dive and root cause analysis when required.
  • Be familiar with the criticality and visibility of the management information and be comfortable with the methods of preparing and the production of MI
  • Experience of service delivery to external customers (not necessarily banking) and senior stakeholders
