Job Description

    Role Overview:The Manager - Business Development will be responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with clients, and expanding the companys market presence in software services. You will lead a team of business development executives, develop strategic sales plans, and work closely with senior management to ensure the successful achievement of revenue goals. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the software services industry and a proven track record of leading successful business development initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Lead Generation & Market Research:Identify and target new business opportunities, including new markets, clients, and partnerships.Conduct thorough market research to stay updated on industry trends, competition, and client needs.Generate leads through various channels, including networking, industry events, and digital outreach.Client Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.Lead negotiations, develop proposals, and close deals that align with the companys services and client requirements.Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring long-term satisfaction and fostering business growth.Strategy Development:Develop and implement business development strategies that align with the companys growth objectives.Work closely with the sales, marketing, and technical teams to align business development efforts with product and service offerings.Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling services to current clients.Team Leadership & Management:Manage, mentor, and guide a team of business development executives to meet and exceed revenue targets.Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance metrics for the business development team.Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing support and training to enhance team performance.Sales Forecasting & Reporting:Track and report on business development activities, including sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and market trends.Provide regular updates to senior management on the progress of business development efforts, key opportunities, and challenges.Utilize CRM and sales tracking tools to monitor team performance and client engagements.Collaboration & Cross-functional Work:Collaborate with marketing teams to align strategies, generate leads, and enhance brand presence.Work closely with project managers and technical teams to ensure smooth delivery of services once contracts are secured.Ensure seamless handover of clients to project execution teams with a clear understanding of client requirements.Key Skills & Qualifications:Experience:5-8 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in a software services or IT company.Proven experience in managing and leading a business development or sales team.Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT services offerings.Sales & Negotiation Skills:Proven ability to close large-scale deals and negotiate favorable terms with clients.Experience in drafting and negotiating proposals, contracts, and service agreements.Communication & Relationship Building:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to present complex software services to non-technical clients in a clear and compelling manner.Strong networking skills and the ability to build rapport with C-level executives.Strategic Thinking:Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and act on business opportunities.Ability to think strategically and drive long-term growth initiatives for the company.Leadership:Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.Ability to foster a collaborative, results-oriented environment.Education:Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.MBA or advanced degree in business management is a plus.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in the software services or IT industry.Familiarity with CRM systems and business development tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).Experience in international business development is an advantage.
