Job Description

About You

  • Our ideal candidate will help scale FourKites handle exponential growth by indulging in modernizing underlying infrastructure as we continue to work on a few of the exciting themes eventually paving way for increased use of our product offerings. Focus areas could broadly range anywhere from having to help enable large scale pub sub patterns to creatively design and build reliable, high performant solutions that can seamlessly scale as we grow.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s or Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
  • Exp - 7 to 10
Skills Required:Must Have
  • Experience in Kafka installation and administration and deep knowledge of Kafka internals, connectors.
  • Experience in Open-source Kafka and Managed Kafka (Confluent, InClustr, AWS MSK)
  • Experience of Kubernetes and Confluent Operator
  • Understanding of serialization formats such as Apache Avro, parquet etc.
  • Strong experience in implementing software solutions in enterprise Linux or Unix environments
  • Experience in Data Ingestion using Streaming kafka platforms.
  • Experience in schema registry, sinking of data from kafka topics to different data stores (including s3, Elasticsearch etc)
  • Expertise in kafka cluster sizing, consumer/producer control, kafka HA setup.
  • Support and build managed kafka as a service across organization - including onboarding automation, monitoring and alerting management.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and running Azure and AWS Data platforms, Hadoop, Streaming clusters etc.
  • Experience on cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, hands-on working knowledge on cloud native data components.
  • Experience with NoSQL DB like cassandra, MongoDB - their scaling challenges, maintenance issues around cpu usage, tuning etc.
  • Knowledge with ElasticSearch tuning, management.
  • Strong experience in AWS Autoscaling group, VPC and Cloudwatch LifeCycle hooks.
  • Experience with integrating various security solutions such as LDAP, Kerberos, SPNego or system / installation management tools into the overall solution.
  • Strong understanding of OS, network configuration, devices, protocols, and performance optimization.
  • Understanding of configuration management systems, devops and automation (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
Preferred:
  • Experience in container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS) and CI/CD.
  • Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale.
  • Experience building distributed, Internet-scale systems.
  • Experience or willingness to design and solve ambiguous problems with significant impact.
  • Experience in multi-cloud providers like AWS, Azure, GCP, etc
  • Thorough knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies.
  • Experience with industry, open-source projects and/or academic research in large-data, parallel and distributed systems.
  • Good understanding of Linux internals.
